“Nope, Nope, Nope not even going to attempt going down that road,” Katie said to herself. Samantha tilted her head giving her friend a confused look.
“Who are you talking to Katie’s?” She asked.
Katie paused, cursing under her breath. She had not meant to say that out loud but after everything that had happened just today another experiment with the Ring was out of the question. Katie now tuned to look at her friend. Perhaps talking would help Samantha figure things out for herself.
“Sorry Sammy I had a lot on my mind,” she sighed. “Tell me, have you ever had feelings about women in...you know, that way.”
Sammy shook her head no. “No never, It’s just that your aunt. She was amazing when she played beach volleyball and her pictures in Victoria’s Secret were to die for.”
Katie grinned kindly, appreciating that fact her aunt had a devoted fan. Still she could see that Samantha wasn’t a lesbian just a fan girl who had the opportunity to meet her idol. “Sammy I appreciate you being such a fan of my aunt but I don’t think you care for my aunt like you think you might.”
“What do you mean!? She’s my idol and I so have a crush on her. I mean she’s gorgeous, popular, any woman would want to be with her.”
Katie smiled and placed her hands on Samantha’s shoulder. “The thing is though Sammy is if you feel that way about women you kind of feel like that about ALL women.”
Samantha paused as she took this in befor Katie spoke again. “The thing is this,” she said. “Before Kellie said anything to me I kind of knew something was different about me. I felt like I kind of liked both guys and girls romantically. Have you ever felt like this about girls before?”
Samantha opened her mouth quickly before shutting it and lowering her head. “No,” she said meekly. “I hadn’t it’s just that I don’t know she’s so pretty and she’s everything I’ve ever wanted to be.”
“She’s your idol,” Katie said kindly. “Not many people get to personally get to meet their idol. Even fewer get to actually hangout with them and have them buy them clothes. Just be friendly and get to know her, you’ll find out she’s actually a really nice person and very down to earth.”
Samantha nodded sadly and hung her head. “ Yeah I guess your right,” she said meekly. “Sorry I got so carried away. Ugh I feel so stupid thinking that. God why am I such a dork!”
Katie bent down to hug her friend. “Sammy your not a dork,” she said. “Your one of the kindest people I know. Don’t be so down on yourself your a natural beauty and anyone would be lucky to date you.”
Sammy smiled and gave Katie a tight hug. “Thanks Katie,” she said. “You’ve always been the best when it comes to cheering people up. Your not going to tell anyone I was crushing on your aunt are you?”
“No,” Katie laughed. “That’s are little secret.”
Sammy sighed in relief as she gathered up the clothes she wanted. “Thanks your awesome.”
“Welcome Sammy and hey you know if you ever want to find out if you have any romantic feelings for girls I’m always here.”
Sammy’s eyes bulged as she looked at Katie who was giving her a coy look. Before she could say anything Katie burst into laughter. “I’m joking Sammy,” she laughed. “Just messing with you don’t be mad.”
“You dork,” she laughed. “Had me scared for a minute. I think I can safely say is don’t think about girls like that. Thanks for cheering up though I really needed that. Now come on I really want to ask your aunt about how to get into pro sports and modeling.”
Katie placed her arm around her friend as they exited the dressing room. An awkward situation was avoided for now yet Katie still wanted to try the ring out once Kellie joined her again.
