The young otter soon finds a crayfish, bites into it, and subsequently consumes it. It then decides to go back into its burrow by the stream to relax.
As it goes into the mud by the river to return to its home, it accidentally touches the large glowing stone on its side.
Suddenly, the otter begins to change.
It grows wider and longer, it's body becomes a torso. It grows longer legs that he can walk upon, still with their webbed paws. His front paws grow out before him, becoming arms. His paws grow thumbs, still attached to his paws with dark brown webbing. His mind swells with newfound knowledge and the ability to talk.
When the transformation finally ceases, the otter looks around and she his new humanoid form. As the otter animals run in fear, he scratches his head and interjects: "What the hell?!" He examines his new body further, and he likes the changes.
He goes back into the river so he can further test out his new body. He finds out he is still the agile otter he always was, and tries to catch more fish. He eventually finds one, approaching what appears to be a worm. He grabs the fish, and pulls it to his mouth.
For some reason though, he finds he cannot do it. The fish starts to pull away from him, even though it doesn't appear to be moving. The force is incredibly strong, but he can still grab hold.
"Oh no you don't!" He thinks. "I'm going to eat you whether you like it or not!"
He finally puts in his mouth, but he is pulled out of the water into the light as does so. When his eyes adjust, he sees he has been pulled onto land, and can see a human staring right at him.
