Shaggy, the impostor, responded, "Who are you?"
Wepwawet said, "Your creator."
Shaggy said, "No way. My mom birthed me and my siblings in a puppy mill."
Wepwawet said, "That mom is an illusion, a planted memory. When Kevin wished Jared had been Shaggy his entire life, I saw a great opportunity. I created all those memories of yours. You only existed after Jared held that collar and the medallion at the same time. I created you. And if anyone cares to know, Bradley, the dog that lost that collar is doing fine, not that any of you selfish humans care. He wanted a way of escape from that overbearing woman and I opened a way for him."
Shaggy asked, "Why should I believe you?"
Wepwawet said, "You're a dog who became human and you ask me why you should believe me?"
"Okay," Shaggy said, "Are you a good god or a bad god?"
"Good, bad, what's the difference?" said Wepwawet "I am a god who opens the way. I create paths and opportunities for secret desires to be fulfilled. Do you have a secret desire you want the opportunity to fulfill?"
Shaggy said, "No. I already got what I want."
"Are you so sure?" It was hard to tell whether Wepwawet was smiling or snarling.
"What do you mean?" Shaggy growled.
Wepwawet said, "Well let's start this story from the beginning. Bradley escaped from his owner and lost his collar on the way. Jared picked up the collar allowing me power over Jared and Bradley at the same time. I didn't want to impede Bradley so I created you but I didn't create you out of thin air. I split Jared into two beings, one his human interests and the other his secret desire to be a dog. You, Shaggy, are Jared. You are not an imposter. When Kevin wished to have both Jared and Shaggy, Jared's soul was split in two."
Like a light bulb turned on, Shaggy said, "You want to merge us back together."
Wepwawet said, "Only if that is what you secretly desire. Do I detect that secret desire in you?"
