As April thought about her new super powers for a moment, an idea sprang in her mind: what was it like to be a cat? Of course, she could just transform into one (she could do that now!), but wouldn't it make more sense to just ask? And what better way to find out then by asking a cat itself? [ I wish that my cat would come scratching at the door. ] she thought. In an instant, she heard her cat pawing at the door begging to be let in. Getting up to open the door, she wished that there was a pet door for her cat, Penny, to go though. She smiled as the door appeared and a purring Penny walked right in. " I wish that you could speak, " April grinned.
" How do you do? " responded Penny.
" Quite fine, thank you, " April of course answered adding a rich accent, " What is it like to be a cat? Do you enjoy being able to jump high and chase mice? Or do you just wish to spend all of your days sleeping. "
" Well, it must be quite different from a humans life, but I certainly do enjoy it for I know no other life! " the cat said thoughtfully, " But, oh! I do think it would be fun to try being a human if I got that chance. "
" Then: I wish I was the cat, keeping my human mind though, and that you were the human you wish to be."
After finishing, each felt a tingling, as their bodys began to change. In just a few minutes, the transformation was complete, and both went there separate ways.
Both were contented for now and agreed on staying like this for a week.
But what happened during that week? ...
