Your friends look toward you and for the first time seem to notice your strange tail. You grab it and try to hide it. Jenny stops and lays down. She puts her head down and makes low moaning noises as she cannot cry. Your friends once again ignore her and start to head towards you. They stare, in anticipation of a replay.
"We have to get out of here! I don't want to be a donkey! I don't want to live in stables!"
They come out of there fog and one only responds
"Speak for yourself. None of US have a tail. And we all know Jenny was a lazy person."
"What's your point! I have a TAIL!"
"My point is that only lazy, mean, and rotten people turn into donkeys. You have a tail. You will be a donkey. None of us are lazy or mean or rotten so we will stay human and...and... live here forever and have fun!"
She really seemed to believe she was perfect. That she would get off easy and not become an animal.
"You really believe that? Well... tell me. When was the last time you looked behind you? ANY of you looked back?"
All of their eyes got wide. They craned there necks back to see just what she meant. There dresses, which looked so perfect minutes ago, had long ropey tails peering from the back.
"Now listen we need to get off this island..."
"It's a dream! It has to be a dream! Tail, GO!"
"If it's a dream, how can you feel pain?"
They all pinch themselves, only to bray out in pain and shame.
"Believe me now? I am leaving... before I lose my humanity. Oh, and you might want to check your reflection."
Surely enough the girl quickly sprouts a pair of donkey ears.
"HAW HEE HAW HEE HAW HEE!" you laugh, and clap your hands to your mouth. You brayed! No more time to lose. You HAD to get away. You are ready to walk away, when everyone starts to stare at you. Your hands autimatically shoot to your ears, but they are the same. You look down. Your feet have perfect donkey hooves at the bottem.
"No! Oh no!" you scream as fur grows up your legs.
"AHHH!" another girl screams as she loses her hands to hooves.
"My ears! Oh goodness NO!" says another as she claps hands to assine ears.
"I DON'T WANT TO BE A DONKEY!" you say, "I don't sound like a jackass! Listen! HAW HEE HAAAWWW!" You brayed! Just like the donkeys in the fields.
