One day, some scientists were trying to experiment with a dimensional gateway, but as usual when it comes to these things, something went horribly wrong!
The dimensional gateway exploded and sent a shockwave around the world, tranforming all humans into.....what could only be described as......Clown Imps!
Now when it comes to imps, they are normally very young little demons....only 3 years old, and they will have red skin, horns, spade-tipped tails, bat wings, sharp teeth, yellow eyes with slit pupils, and they are bent on causing as much mischif as possible,.....but this breed of imp was drastically different.
They still looked and sounded like 3-year-olds, but they were also clowns at the same time.
Their bodies were made out of rubber and latex so they were like living dolls, being entirely smooth and having no "naughty" parts to speak of.
Some had chalk-white skin, while others were shades of orange or pink, and all of them had various types of clown makeup which was a permanent part of their faces, just like their squeaky round clown noses, which also came in various colors, and some were covered in glitter (more common on the girl clown imps), they had inflated horns, wild clown hair of all types, and instead of their tails ending in spade tips, the tips of their tails were colorful balloons that could not be popped......no part of them could be popped actually. They also had huge clown feet. Some had buck teeth, while others had sharp teeth. They also had colorful batwings that looked like pieces of a circus tent.
Even though their bodies no longer had anything to hide, they loved to dress up in all kinds of silly clown costumes. In terms of diet, they ate candy, cakes, pies (and threw them at eachother too), and basically anything sweet, but because whatever they ate became air inside their tummies, they produced no waste, so they never had to worry about going to the bathroom.
In terms of behavior, they weren't evil like you might expect imps to be, but were instead fun little tricksters who loved to laugh and make others laugh too. They tickled, made faces, pulled pranks, and had all sorts of wacky fun. Their bodies operated on cartoon physics, so they couldn't die, and wouldn't age either, essentially being 3 forever, but they liked it that way.
Sure, they remembered who they were before they changed, but chose to embrace their new selves because they were having too much fun!
The world around them had also changed, becoming one big carnival that never ran out of all the sweets and snacks they could eat.
They also went by new clown names. They had no leader, but they all thought of eachother as brothers and sisters, and those who had already been married or dating were inseperable now, because they loved eachother that much.
They could also make living balloon animals, juggle, ride unicycles, and any other clown trick that could be thought of.
Now who does this story start with, when they and everyone else become clown imps?
