She went home and found Melvin just like so many times before, passed out on the sofa.
“Melvin, Melvin, wake up dear.” She tapped on his forehead but he just said as he turned over “Ah ma, leave me alone.”
Opening her purse she took out one of the rings and slipped it on his finger, and he still didn’t wake up.
“I hope this makes you more responsible too, I’d hate it if you turned out neglecting my grandchildren.” She said and watched in amazement as her younger son became her daughter.
The change took all of about fifteen minutes to complete and the ring became semi permanent Melvin’s hand.
The old woman had gone out and purchased several pairs of female clothing for her son, anticipating what he would be like as girl. She never thought that the ring would enhance his new characteristics giving him double D’s and a figure that would stop traffic.
“Oh dear!” she said holding up a small blouse she had bought. “I’m going to have to return these.” Then she stood for a moment admiring her new daughter and imagined all the future grandchildren.
The old woman put all the new clothes in a bag except for a white satin nighty and a red and white sundress that stretched at the top and went to exchange them. Presumptive on her success to get Mel pregnant and married off, she bought several maternity outfits as well and a baby crib as a wedding gift.
On her way back home she stopped by several of her friends houses and even some strangers that she knew had sons that would make a fitting husband for Mel.
Meanwhile back at home, Melvin was woke by the chiming of the doorbell.
Groggily making it from the couch to the front door, Melvin suddenly realized he didn’t feel at all right.
He opened the door, surprised to see……..
