The new Chad was jerking off with his back to the tank, when he heard a noise and turned.
The merman spun around as a stream of gas bubbles emerged from the hole under his tail.
The new Chad laughed, "I may have to change your diet, if goldfish make you gassy."
Chad was mortified. He was trapped in a tank of water that smelled of facts. It was worse than that ski trip, when he and his buds stopped for burritos before the 4 hour drive up the mountain, and had that awful farting contest. It seemed fun in the moment, but sitting in the stench for the trip was hell. Maybe he'd get used to it? Wait where was he supposed to pee and shit? He looked around the room, and down at his laughing clone, and resolved to escape.
That night Paul turned out the living room light, and Chad floated in the darkness. He closed the door, and presumably went to bed. Carefully, Chad swam up to the top of the tank and shifted the cover a foot to one side. He gripped the side of the tank, and gasped in the air. He submerged his head taking in a lot of water, then heated himself up and out of the tank. He landed with a splash on the Oriental rug. At first he feared someone heard him, but he could hear water running in the pipes. Paul must showering. Now if he took the Chad skin off? Chad flopped across the carpet toward the door clenching his mouthful of water tightly as it filtered through his gills.
