Katie had dreaded this moment since she was infected last week: going back to school. The 16 year old's transformation was minimal compared to others but it was still enough that she was treated differently. Her infection with that virus had made her half cat; her body was normal except for her ears moving up her head and becoming cat's ears, claw like nails on her hands and feet, a black tail that matched her short black hair, feline eyes, elongated canine teeth, she even had four little whiskers on each cheek.
"Katie? It's almost time for school!" Her mom yelled.
The girl's feline ear twitched at this, her senses were heightened along with her agility. Katie's Mom opened the door with her daughter's school uniform in hand,
"Come on sweetie, it won't be that bad. Now get dressed and come down for breakfast."
Katie sighed and took the clothes from her mom and. started getting dressed, her mom walked back downstairs while she got ready.
She wore a white short sleeve blouse with a black tie tucked into a green plaid, pleated skirt with white high socks and black loafers.
The girl rubbed her shoulder as she let some of her hair fall over her almost glowing blue, cat eyes.
"Can I at least wear a hoodie or something for my...ears." She mumbled.
"Honey, it doesn't matter if you're a little different, you're still a beautiful young girl." Her Mom assured.
"I'm a freak..." Katie replied quietly, avoiding eye contact.
"No! You are not a freak! You're my little girl and I love you!" Her Mom retorted and hugged her daughter,
"Things will get better, I promise." She added.
After that, Katie quietly ate her breasts and got her brown book bag. Her mother dropped her off in front of the school and Katie walked to class, she kept her head lowered with her cat ears down and her tail close to her legs.
The young girl could hear wispers as she walked by, she was sure she would see people staring if she lifted her head.
When Katie walked into the classroom she sat quietly in the back corner, still avoiding eye contact with any of the other students. Class was uneventful, the cat-girl fiddled with the hem of her skirt with her claw-like nails, just wanting the school day to be over.
Katie made it to lunch without incident, that's when her friend before her "transformation" sat with her on the empty table in the back of the cafeteria. Her friend's name was Natile, she wore the same uniform and had long blonde hair with a beautiful appearance.
Uh...hi K-Katie." She said softly, "its me Natile."
"Yea I noticed your scent--" Katie responded and then turned red once she realized what she had said,
"N-no I mean you don't smell or anything, I just I--" she stammered.
"It's okay Katie, I know..." her friend replied kindly.
"Yea..." she responded flatly.
"The ears are kind of cute." Natile said after a long silence, making her friend blush nervously.
Before Natile could respond Katie was rubbing her cheek against the blonde's arm, purring slightly. The dark haired girl realized what she was doing and quickly pulled away,
"Uh...I uh-s-sorry. I...don't know what came over me..." she blurted, her face crimson.
"It's okay Katie, you couldn't control yourself. Besides I know I'm irresponsible." Natile giggled.
Katie laughed a little too. After lunch the two went to their separate class' and agreed to walk home together after school like they used to.
