While Mary waited for Issac and Ilvir to come back to the plateau, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed something.
When Issac and Sagittarius were dueling, their conflict formed a small crater into the ground, normally she wouldn’t have paid any mind to such a detail, but something about it seemed off to her. Moving closer to inspect it, she saw that it was much wider and deeper than she had originally thought, but this wasn’t caused by the battle.
Mary knelt down on one knee and suddenly it clicked. While the cloud had already filled up most of the gaps, there were strange patterns barely visibly in the crater, as if someone had lashed a whip or vine into the ground multiples times around the crater.
Had Isaac not only assimilated the Pegasus Herd but part of the mountain as well? From what Issac told Mary, he could only absorb living things yet the more she looked at it the more it looked like Issac had torn huge chunks of cloud stone along with the Pegasi. That could be why he doesn’t have that many equine traits. Mary guessed.
But none of it matters. Right now following the plan instructed to her by the Elder was all that mattered. It was true Issac would likely refuse at first to take part in what was planned for him, but Issac’s duty bound nature is the one thing the plan is hinging on and for the greater good of her people, Mary will not let it fail. She only wished to have had more time to cloud out all of the details but for now she could only try her best. Mary thought solemnly.
