It had now been a quarter century since the flooding of Earth had first started.
The technologists were all but a dying profession but they had finally figured
out what had caused the problems in the
first place.
25 years earlier a scientific research team had been trying to drill through the Mantle at
the Marina Trench and had succeeded
all too well.
They had released the magma,but also the magic which
had lain bottled up inside the Earth all these long
aeons.
Apparently magic is heavier than most other stuff.
Being down 37,000 feet below the surface of the
Ocean ( Pacific?) it hadn't been possible to seal off the hole they'd drilled.
Hence the Trench was no longer the Trench
but a rather huge deposit of glowing green
Magicgneiss,the very valuable magic enriched
mineral.
Whilst the magic had been gushing out like
Old Yeller
it had done irreparable
damage to space,time and reality.
So now there were nations of zombies,plenty of psycho lizardmen
and the island of New York was now
a nature paradise again,with
16th century natives merrily paddling
about in their
birchbark canoes,none the wiser that
25 years earlier a city had once towered where
tall oak trees now towered.
25 years earlier you had transformed into a flme breathing
western drgon in body,if not in mind
and that had been the problem.
For twentyfive years you'd had
mental conversions where for several hours each day you were a western dragon in
mind as well as body,which meant
fighting knights,kidnapping maidens and eating
dwarf ridden ponies.
The thing was your alter ego was mentally
a female,which meant everytime the thoughts
changed your body went female dragon as well.
A rather painful physical tf to be sure.
It was only in the last few months tht medicine men had started refining all that
glowing green magic ore in a attempt
to turn Earth's monsters
such as you,back into their original human body and mind.
Alas over those 25 years your dragoness alter ego had slept around
and laid eggs and now there were plenty of scaley little nasties you'd
borne into the world.
So the magic counter tf had not occurred
but had simply totally buggered up the balance
between you,the human in a
male dragons body
and her,the female dragon monster.
