Max decided to check out the Funhouse. As he walked he noticed that he hasn’t seen a single human. Everyone was a clown.
“Weird,” Max thought.
Max approached the Funhouse, which was a giant rainbow colored building with lights flashing and pointing toward the entrance.
He went toward the entrance and walked right in. Before he entered, he was greeted by a big clown.
“Enjoy the funhouse!”
“Thanks.”
The starting room was dark and only lit up by glow sticks, but Max managed. Flashing lights and laughing sounds surrounded Max in the darkness. Soon he found himself crossing a bridge and into another room.
This room was the opposite of the first room. It was brighter, so Max could see clearly. It was also silent. As Max walked along the room he noticed more details. There were vanities holding makeup and props. Clothes racks for costumes lined the walls and mirrors were spread out.
Max saw a red button that said “Press for Clown”. He was going to walk away but something told him to press the button, so he did.
Suddenly a small red clown car came out of nowhere and stopped next to Max. The door opened and a dozen clowns hopped out of the car surrounding Max. One of them stepped forward. He was a whiteface wearing a yellow jumpsuit with pink polka dots. He had a rainbow bow tie and ruffles on his collar. His face contained a huge red smile and clown nose, while his eyes had blue diamonds around them. His hair was neon red with that curled around the side.
“Heya! I’m Spots the leader of the troope!”
“Uh. I’m M-Max.”
“Hi Max,” shouted the choir of clowns.
Spots noticed Max next to the button.
“You pressed the button didn’t you?”
“I wanted to see what would happen.”
“Well you’re about to!” Spots blew a whistle and immediately two clowns grabbed Max and saw him in a chair.
“Hey! Let me go!”
“Not yet kiddo!”
Spots dragged Max to a vanity and grabbed some makeup. He applied white paint all over Max’s face. He moved to his eyebrows and painted them black and made them into an arch. He took the yellow and made triangles above and below each eye. Then Spots grabbed the red and drew a big smile across his face.
“Now we’re rollin’!” Exclaimed Spots.
“Bring it in boys!”
Max, feeling a bit funny and calmer, noticed a mannequin wearing a jumpsuit which was blue on the right side and white with rainbow polka dots on the left, with the arms and legs being blue on the left and white with polka dots on the right.
The clowns took the costume off the mannequin and stuck it onto Max. They also stuffed his feet into red and yellow bubble toed clown shoes.
“Almost done Maxy! And looking good!”
Spots took a orange afro wig and placed it on Max’s head. Finally Spots made a clown nose appear and stuck it on Max’s nose.
“Bring in the mirror!”
Max stood up and looked in the mirror that the clowns brought out and saw that he was now a clown. He let out a scream of horror.
“Change me back! Get me out of this!” He tugged on the wig and his clothes but they wouldn’t come off.
“No can do! This is the new you. C’mon boys let’s put him in and get him registered!” The clowns took his arms again and threw him in the car. Everyone piled in next to him with Spots at the wheel.
“To registration!” Yelled Spots and they zoomed off in the car.
