Ty couldn't believe what had just happened, had it just happened? Yes, he was certain it had. Ty had wished it and then it had happened. Ty wondered if he could do it again. He got up and looked out the window at the yard Mark had told him to cut and weed the day before. Ty cleared his mind and then wished, "I wish the grass was cut and the weeds pulled in our yard." A second passed, then another with nothing happening. Ty felt foolish. He started doubting what he had seen earlier when suddenly the grass shortened and the weeds popped out of the ground and piled themselves up next to the trash. Ty was speechless. He stood there with his mouth open staring at the now finished yard. Ty's mind raced with questions that he didn't have answers too. He sat at the desk in his little room. The chair was uneven and wobbled. Again, Ty cleared his mind and then wished that the chair was even. After a few moments the shorter leg grew and the chair was now resting squarely on the floor. Ty sat on his fixed chair in stunned amazement.
Ty sat for an hour trying to figure out what to do next. This morning he had been upset that his adopted family had forgotten to get him anything, had seemingly forgotten his birthday all together, now he had been given the greatest gift anyone could think of. Ty thought about his foster family for a moment. He didn't know why they had adopted him only to be so cruel to him. Did they just want to appear to be good people to the outside world? His favorite theory was that they wanted a servant, someone to do all the work they didn't want to do. He had been so happy to get out of the orphanage, older children are rarely adopted. But then again if you're looking for someone to do labor, you don't want a small child. Over the last four years, he'd actually come to miss the orphanage. At least there he was treated with a little respect and dignity and not just outright contempt. He had been so happy, Mark and June had so much of well everything and he was getting an older brother too. At first he thought he had displeased them by not living up to their expectations. Thats why they were being so cold to him. He had been so afraid that they were going to send him back to the orphanage. So he worked even harder to make them happy. It would have been impossible for him to believe in those first months that he would eventually dream of being returned to the orphanage. Ty the child that no one wanted, now had the ability to change everything. He would start by punishing those who had been so cruel to someone who had nothing, someone who had no one to protect them. He would take everything from them, they'd lose all that they held dear and then he'd leave them. Ty's thoughts were interrupted by loud music coming from the room next to his, he smiled, he would start with Dustin.
