Coach Waddell instructed assistant coach Larry Duncan to stay in the bus with the boys while he went to ride with Zeke in the tow truck.
Larry mumbled and grumbled but always did what the coach wanted, he was waiting for the day that he would be coach and order others around.
The truck started moving with bus in tow. Mr.Waddell made small talk with Zeke while loud laughter came from behind as the boys made jokes about Zeke, the town and mainly small town girls.
“Do you have a team here?” Mr.Waddell asked.
Zeke laughed and said “We do now.” And they both laughed.
“Ah, so too small of a town, you probably group your boys with other small towns, right?” Mr. Waddell said.
Zeke shook his head and tured the wheel was they pulled onto main street. “No, we’re a small town now but growing in leaps and bounds.” He grinned , and added “I like to think of it as a large baby boom and everyone participates.”
The coach nodded politely and gazed out the window as they passed shops and stores.
