Todd's jaw ached. He moved it back and forth as he regained consciousness. He tried to reach his jaw with his hand, but he couldn't move it or his other arm or legs. He seemed to be glued or stuck to an unhinged door in somebody's basement. Chad stood nearby naked except for his glasses. No he couldn't be naked because his crotch was smooth.
"Hey!" Todd shouted, "get me outta here!"
He heard a wheeled chair screech as it rolled across the concrete floor.
"Ah, the subject is awake!" Micah said. Todd didn't recognize the voice.
"What? WHO? Chad do something!"
Chad stood quietly and unmoving.
"So you can see my Chadbot as he really is? Most interesting. For some reason, the mental filter that broadcast the brawny human version of Chad doesn't work on you, Todd," Micah said in an intrigued voice.
"Wait, Mickey, you mean no one else sees nerd boy Chad, but me?"
"It's Micah," he said with a sigh. He had never had a class with Todd, so his lack of knowledge of Micah's name was understandable, but still irritating. He continued, "yes, so far. Others may notice, but they haven't reacted to the change, so either they don't know Chad well enough to recognize the changes or their smart enough not to call attention to changes that no one else can see. First, I need to find out why you resist the filter. Then, I need to adjust the filter so it works on you. And then-"
"What did you do to Chad? He-"
"Oh, Chadbot is a vast improvement over the bulky bullying original. I made a detailed copy of his mind and memories, just like I am going to do with you. Then I merged him with my robotic suit. He's pure android now, muscle and tissue replaced with carbon fibre and bone replaced with titanium carbon alloy."
"But he's so still? Wait, like you're going to do to me?" Todd gasped.
"Oh, Chadbot is recharging," Micah said waving a remote control. Instantly, Chad's body moved. His eyes blinked and he smiled.
