After a car ride Courtney opened the door for Anna who when she entered thought the house smelled odd. Anna asked "Did mom put it some oil fragrances or something?"
Courtney sniffed a bit and said "No, same old house odor I guess? Maybe your nose is a little more sensitive? either way, WE'RE HOME MOM!!!"
Their mother came around a corner and said "Courtney, Anna, You're both here! Just finished one of your favorites Anna. A meat pie." Walking to the table felt odd. She wanted to walk on her hands as well, but felt like it wouldn't be good. Climbing into her seat she found her new body was a bit short and didn't reach the table, and the sitting position wasn't even that comfortable either. She shifted her position to more of a crouching position which gave her more height and felt more comfortable. Small part of Anna just wanted to dig in with her hands, but she knew that if she did her hands would be burning and the human in her was strong enough to eat it with the fork and knife.
Their mother asked "So Anna, your a little shorter than usual. I suppose we should go shopping for some new clothes and a few other things." Anna felt things were a little off, she had just went from human to part cat. Her mom was trying to make things seem like there was nothing different.
Anna had finisher her meat pie quickly then asked "Mind if I called in... "sick"... from school tomorrow?"
Their mother said "Well... I suppose you do need a little time to get used to everything new. Don't worry about a thing though, i'm pretty sure they know you were in the hospital and are just recovering."
Courtney said "Well if it makes you feel any better a new restaurant just opened up. I can take the two of us after I get back from school."
Anna got down from her chair and said "I'm going back to my room then." They let her excuse herself as she went inside her room. Inside she took off some of the hospital clothes and tried some of her clothes on. Most of which were too big. Looking a bit deeper in her closet she found some clothes from a few years ago and while childish they were about the right size... Although they didn't quite fit right. Wanting to just relax she jumped on her bed with a laptop to watch some videos and she went to get her headphones. She tried to put them on and then realized that they were made for humans and her ears didn't really work with them. She put the headphones down on the ground and went for some earbuds which were really uncomfortable so she just decided to just use the laptop's speakers on somewhat low. Anna sighed wondering how many other things she wouldn't be able to do now that she wasn't quite human.
