By the time the girls had gotten back to Claudia's house, the shock of seeing Shiro being aged to an old man had worn off. "Wow, you really let him have it, didn't you?" asked Kellie.
"I just had to," said Katie, "I never met anyone so...bigoted. I couldn't let him get away with what he said about you guys."
"I had to admit, that was pretty shocking," said Claudia, "I mean, I know Mika's parents didn't like us being bi, but I didin't think they were Asian supremacists."
"Supremacists might be a strong word," said Mika, "But they never did really like white people. They kept telling me I could do better with my choice of friends even before they found out about me and Claudia."
"Wow, i can't believe a bunch of jerks like them raised someone as sweet and kind as you," said Katie.
"Well, I know I would certainly be raising my kids and making them hate people for being who they are," said Kellie.
"Hey, that's it!" said Claudia, "Katie, you could use the ring to make Mika's family her kids so that she could raise them to be tolerant."
"Whoa, whoa," said Mika, "I do want my family to be better, but I'm not sure about having to give up my high school and college years just so I can make them better. Besides, who would their dad be?"
"Who says you need a dad?" asked Claudia in a flirty tone.
"That's sweet of you to offer, but biology doesn't really work that way," said Mika, "And I'd rather have my kids for a romantic reason than just visiting a sperm bank."
Claudia sighed and said, "I feel like half our problems would be resolved if one of us was a guy. I mean, it's not like we're full-blown lesbians." She turned to Katie and Kellie and said quickly, "No offense."
"None taken," said Kellie, "This isn't about us, it's about you."
"Are you actually lesbian or are you bi?" asked Mika.
"Sorry, my river flows only one way and it's not towards men," said Kellie.
Katie thought it over and said, "I might be a little bi, but not enough that I'd cheat on Kellie to be with a man."
"Well, even if one of us was a boy, it wouldn't solve my family's issues about non-Asians," said Mika.
"And your ring can't do anything about that?" asked Claudia.
"No, it's power is confined to aging and adjusting reality to match. I can't change people's hearts from what they are," said Katie, "I suppose I could unbirth people and see if they get a reset, but I don't want to take it that far."
"Let's not," said Claudia, looking a bit queasy at the thought, "But is there anything that change people's sexes? I mean, you've got a ring that change ages."
"You would think so," said Kellie, "I've heard enough stories about that, but I bet most of them are fake."
"And it's not like you can't find those kinds of things online," said Katie.
"Can't you?" asked Mika.
The girls paused and thought this over. "Well, it's at least worth a look anyways," said Claudia.
"You know...I think I saw something at the mall that seems like we can get something like that," said Katie.
"At the mall?" asked Kellie.
"Just some store we were passing. I don't know why, but it seems like the right place," said Katie.
"Well, I might be willing to see if I can raise my family right, but only for one afternoon," said Mika, "I don't want to be saddled with them if I can't change their views."
Katie thought this over. Was there really more magic to be sought for? It seems entirely likely.
