Kelly jumped on the bed.
C'mon, get up! she thought.
But it was no use. Lassie, in Kelly's body, just rolled over and continued to sleep.
Kelly thought for a minute pondering how to wake up her old body. She then thought about what Lassie would do to wake her up early in the morning. Lassie would always jump onto the bed and start to lick Kelly's face. So Kelly did just that - she jumped on top of her old body and started to lick her old face.
It was a weird feeling, licking her old body and being on the other end of the slobbery kiss. Her tongue felt like sand paper. But after a few seconds, Lassie woke up.
"Oh good, that spell worked," Lassie said with her new lips and vocal cords. "My, this is a funny feeling. I don't know how you did it for all these years."
Lassie then awkwardly stretched her facial muscles. After she was done stretching, she sat up and looked at the dog.
"I hope you like your new body, Kel. It's yours. Forever. I am not going to become a dog ever again. I want to amount to something in my life, something that I could never do as a dog. But you .... you were content to waste your life away in this shack that we live in."
"What?! You did this?" Kelly tried to say. But it was of no use. All that came out of her mouth was misshapen grunts and barks.
Lassie just laughed.
"Yup, you really are a golden retriever. Now I need to go run some errands. So can I trust you to be a good dog while I'm gone?" Lassie said to her. "I guess I can't. You might try something. At least until you resign yourself to being a dog. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on you."
With that, Lassie grabbed Kelly by the collar and dragged her out to the backyard. There she tied Kelly to a tree and walked off.
Oh god. Why? Kelly thought as she laid there, completely helpless.
It was only a leash that attached her to the tree. But even if she got free, where could she go? What could she do?
