Samuel got off the bus and took in his surroundings. The prison didn't look like he was expecting. The bus had pulled up to a modern, clean looking building with large windows and a lush, manicured lawn surrounding the portions of the building he could see. The green grass stopped abruptly at a clean edge and then as far as the eye could see there was brown shrubland. Samuel who had spent his whole life in New York was unsettled by the vast expanse of flat emptiness, the horizon seemed to go on forever. He was focused on scenery, when a guards baton blow to the stomach, knocked him to the ground, and snapped him back to attention.
"Thank you, Captain Asp" said a man in a white lab coat, "Now as I was saying, I am the warden of this facility, you may address me as 'warden'." The man seemed to be collecting his thoughts to continue when Keith decided to speak up, "Is that your crappy name or crappy job?" He laughed at his own joke, not noticing the man nod towards Captain Asp; who smiled before stepping forward and kneeing Keith in the crotch. Keith crumpled to the ground swearing, his eyes watering, his hands cupping his injured package. The Warden looked on with a bored look on his face. "No more interruptions" the warden said impatiently, "I have a lot to do today." Two guards standing near buy picked up Keith and stood him up. "You've been sent here because rehabilitating you has been deemed to cost more than you're worth to society," he continued, "so you've been remanded to us, to benefit society in...another way." At that the warden smiled, Samuel had seen this smile before, Samuel had smiled this smile before; it was the smile of a man who was in absolute control and knew it. Or so he thought; Samuel would knock that smile of his face soon. "One last thing before you're shown to your cells," the Warden said, "You may be thinking of escape. I recommend this course as even if you can get out of the building, the surrounding wilderness will kill you." At this the Warden turned and headed back into the building. The assembled guards broke rank and with one on each side of each prisoner they to entered the building.
The 5 prisoners were taken down a seemingly never ending maze of hallways to three alcoves off of the hallway. Maria was put in one by herself, Keith and Samuel were placed in one and Lee and Matt in the final. Once in, clear partitions slid out from the left and right sealing them in the rooms. Samuel wondered what would happen next
