It was a fairly large cavern of dwarlocks ( think Morlocks x Dwarf)
and it was pretty clear from their pointy teeth and the select cuts of
arms and legs of normal cloud people that this swarm of
dwarf monsters were cannibals.
They hadn't noticed Ilvir yet and sensibly
he backed away quietly.
However he tripped over a rotting foot,still with a feminine boot
enclosing it
and the noise alerted the dwarlocks.
99 pairs of glowing
green dwarlock eyes turned away from Kitty
and locked on the new source of bones and meat.
Ilvir ran for it and Kitty quickly joined him as
the howling swarm of dwarlocks,with spears,clubs and lances made
of bone and skull,gave chase
To be blunt about
both Ilvir and Kitty didn't stand a chance and soon
both had been pricked by little darts coated in dwarlock blood that would either kill
its victim or turn he/she/it into
another cannibal dwarlock.
So facing death or a fate worse then death
They briefly outdistanced their pursuers and Ilvir took
a small side tunnel and ran down it.
Kitty joined him
and some distance down the side tunnel Ilvir tripped over the skeleton.
It was that of a middle aged
air dragon but which contained some peculiar
features,like it might
once have been a cloud female human who had
transformed into a air dragon.
It wasn't quite dragon,it wasn't quite
human.
It did however have a key and chain around its bony
neck and the position of the skull suggested the late
air dragon person had been staring at a particular spot on the opposite wall.
Back behind them Ilvir could hear the howling dwarlocks getting closer
so frantically he removed the key and chain and leapt to the wall
where feeling around he felt a keyhole covered up in dust.
He inseted the key,turned it and a massive dragon sized door swung
open.
Ilvir and Kitty dashed in and the door sealed shut again.
Twenty second later the dwarlocks came and found
only the skeleton of the air dragon person in the side tunnel.
