Alex reads off the text of his Effect card "Speaking of cats...what?!"
"You did just say Mark was catatonic." Megan points out to her brother.
"That's not what that...fine. Obviously the game's willing to reach in order to make a smart remark." Alex sighs and goes back to reading the card. "Speaking of cats, you're certainly a bit of a grumpy puss. Maybe it's because you're now the odd one out? Staring now, whenever the dice come up odds, you'll find yourself feeling more feline."
When Alex looks up from reading the card, Stella and Megan gasp.
"What's it done to me?" Alex asks with a sigh, not seeing any obvious changes.
"You've got cat eyes now." Stella tells him. "They look quite pretty, actually."
Alex blushes slightly at the complement. He passes the dice to Megan, but before she can roll a card suddenly flies off one of the decks towards her.
"Round two complete. Shakeup card played. Each player should now roll a dice. The eldest player gets their result in years younger. The next eldest their result -1, the eldest after them their result -2, and so on. Where players have equal ages, the player who is first in the turn order loses years first."
"Oh dear, that's not good." Stella mutters as Alex bites his lip nervously, hands gripping has trousers angrily.
"Nah, its all good fun." Mark says, picking up a dice and rolling, followed by Cathy a moment later. Both dice come up 5, and the girls giggle as they drop to 12 years old. Alex lets out a yowl of surprise as he suddenly finds sharp kitty fangs digging into his lip and pointy kitty claws poking through the fabric of his pants into his skin.
Seeing no other option, Megan and Stella pick up the dice and roll next, both becoming 14 as they do so. Amazingly, both dice show five as well.
"What are the odds of that?" Megan asks, then winces at the sight of Alex reaching down to pull his socks off, the toes shredded by his new foot claws springing out. When he looks back up he reveals whiskers framing a smaller, cutely catlike, nose.
Alex regards the game with a deeply suspicious look for a moment, then snatches up a dice and rolls it.
"OH COME ON!" The now-fifteen year old shouts as fur spreads across his arms, seeing yet another 5. Moments later the angry teenager is a pouting pre-teen, the boy of 10 staring sulkily at the rest of the group as they regress as well. Losing 4 years, Megan finds herself suddenly her older brother's twin, while at 11 Stella finds herself her boyfriend's elder for the first time. Mark and Cathy drop together to 10, and then moments later to 9.
Looking round at the suddenly much younger table, Megan collects the dice nervously. Their nursery surroundings are looking a lot more ominous all of a sudden....
