An Animalian Super Bowl Plan

added by makutamon 6 years ago O

Usually, the Football Super Bowl took place in late January, but because of how the football season was this season, especially the playoffs, it was being pushed back to early February. Because of this, the NFL decided to get some deals made with Animalia. The first of the deals actually took place two weeks earlier.

---

"We would like Aqua Marina and Canary Diamond to perform for this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show." said the NFL representative.

"We appreciate you bringing it before us," Said Robbie, "But both those singers just got done with their tours and are recovering for now."

"That's why we decided to come a few weeks early." replied the Representative.

"But for now the council is debating about the formation of an entirely new kind of beauty pageant." answered Robbie.

"Which is...?" asked the representative.

"The Mister and Miss Arduous Fieldworker Pageant." said Robbie, his facial expression suggesting that the words left a bad taste in his mouth after speaking them.

"Wha...?" said the representative, not believing his ears.

"Apparently some "internet weenie", as they are sometimes known, caught sight of several Animalians working on the Brown Farm with relatively little clothing before winter came. They posted a picture of it, and commented on how 'They should try out for the Mister and Miss Arduous Fieldworker Pageant.'"

"I think I saw something like that in a cartoon once." said the Representative, trying to remember.

"What followed was more than half-a-million posts that said that they would watch such a thing. Then we started getting sponsorship offers for such an event, as well as suggestions for competitions in such a pageant. And so, the council is debating over how to do it."

"Glad I showed up when I did." said the Representative, remembering just which cartoon the named pageant was in, and dearly hoping that there wasn't going to be a 'callus toss' event.

There were also many uplifted Animalians who didn't understand the significance of the Super Bowl, or football in general. Most of the time, uplifted Animalians seemed to see football as a sport that more often results in serious injuries. Other uplifted Animalians didn't see much in such sports as more than matches for glorified bragging rights. Others seemed to know about the shady, underworld types that host gambling rings on who was going to score how many points in a match, as well as the results of the match. One such new convert to the ARP supposedly got in big trouble with the Las Vegas criminal underworld for making two bets on a sports match, losing both bets and making twice the money in doing so.

Others mostly saw the Super Bowl as using it as an excuse to stuff themselves silly with unhealthy food, cheat on diets, or similar synonyms. Fortunately, many food companies, upon hearing the opinion, managed to begin researching Animalian-safe foods and drinks.

Still others only watched the Super Bowl to watch the newest commercials. Because there were several commercials staring Animalians, some families would be paying more attention to those commercials rather than the game. For those who were unable to watch either the Super Bowl or the commercials, the ones either starring or directed toward Animalians would be recorded and delivered to Animalia later.
