Megan did her best to smile as Tiffany led her to the garage, where there was a SUV. They climbed in, and Tiffany hit the button to open the garage door.
After fastening her seatbelt, Megan couldn’t stop thinking what she was going to do with the program.
What if this really isn’t reality as it’s supposed to be? What if I’m not supposed to be a sixteen-year old girl? If so, did I just erase what things should really be like? She wanted to have fun with the program, but in her fear of a thirty-year old woman claiming to really be thirteen and a boy had scared her a lot. It’s okay; I can always turn Tiffany’s aware back on. Besides, first I want to have some fun. Looking at Tiffany, she decided to change something.
As they were on the road, Megan opened the laptop and turned it on.
“What’re you doing with that?” Tiffany asked.
“Oh, I just want to check something,” Megan replied. “It takes fifteen minutes to get to my house anyway.”
Tiffany shrugged and continued driving. She began making idle chatter just as Megan opened the program. As Megan expected, the program showed only the interior of the car, with to women sitting in the front seat. Clicking on herself to ensure ‘aware’ was enabled, Megan cringed again to see the secondary unborn options. The young Kathy in her womb was a problem, but she didn’t want to kill her. She’d figure out another way to get rid of the pregnancy later. First, she’d toy around with Tiffany. Megan had decided she wasn’t going the leave Tiffany unchanged, but decided to play around before deciding on a final form. She had about ten minutes of driving time left before deciding on what Tiffany would be for the rest of her life.
First, she changed Tiffany’s age to 60. Immediately the changes began. Tiffany began to push into her forties, her chestnut hair beginning to fade. Her face changed, removing any signs of youth. Then as she pushed into her fifties, the more elderly features began to emerge. Her hair changed from the faded brown to a peppery gray, her skin became loose and wrinkled, and her facial features sunk. Her breasts sagged and shrank, as did Tiffany’s entire frame. Spots appeared on her skin and her veins became more pronounced. After the changes stopped, the Tiffany sitting and driving in front of Megan could not be mistaken as a non-senior citizen.
The changed had happened while Tiffany was in the middle of talking about college. Instead of continuing talking about how tough Law School was, and how Megan was smart to not want to be a doctor or lawyer and go through extra college (especially now with a baby on the way), she began talking about the woes of the education system of today, saying how in her day it was much more efficient and practical.
“Also, I’m glad that we can give you partial employment looking after my grand-nieces while you look for a job. These days college doesn’t guarantee employment. Especially with a child on the way and you being unmarried, it’s the least we can do. You’re lucky the pregnancy didn’t start until after your graduation; becoming an expectant single-mother during college would be just as catastrophic today as it was in the sixties. It is a shame that child will have to live fatherless, though.”
Ugh, a nightmare! This grandma is trying to lecture me on education and becoming pregnant while single! Megan definitely did not like Tiffany as a senior. She would have to try something else. They were about seven minutes away from Megan’s house: she still had time to toy around with Tiffany.
