Alex was staying after school to work on a project. He had been studying for a while but it didn't really bother him. He knew he had a project due the next week. Even if his partners weren't going to help him out then he was still going to get a passing grade. It didn't matter what they called him he still wanted to get a good grade. But as he was typing he couldn't help but notice something shiny in the corner of the room. He tried ignoring it but the light kept hitting him directly in the eye.
He got up and trudged across the room. This was just going to be a waste of time. If others took care of the cafeteria and threw their trash away then he wouldn't have to pick up after them. However as he bent down to pick up the object he realized it was a ring. A bright shiny ring. He wasn't much for jewelry but something compelled him to at least try it on. He slipped it over his finger and walked back to his computer looking up more for his homework. Even if he had to do it himself he was going to get it done. But he might have to move. With the noise in the cafeteria he was finding it harder to think.
