Exiting the base camp, we imedently came upon a scent trail.
{ Can you tell me if it’s prey? } I tested Whip-Lash,
{ If so, what type? }
He paused, sniffing the air.
{ Smells like, Rabbit! }
{ Shhh! } I warned him, growling slightly, { You don’t want to alert the prey of our coming. }
{ Of course not, } he answered, looking quite embarrassed.
{ Never mind, let’s just follow it. }
I told him.
A few paw steps later, we came upon a small rabbit burrow.
The hole was just wide enough that we could stick our heads in,
if there was any light to see with.
Activating my transforming powers, I thought of a squirrel, and began to turn into one. Soon the transformation was complete, and I prepared to enter the rabbits’ hole.
{ Wow, I forgot how real our transformations looked! }
Whip-Lash congratulated me.
{ Just be ready to catch the rabbit I flush out... } I said, diving into the hole.

Then something very peculiar happened.
I caught the smell of fresh air.
[But that’s impossible!] I tried to correct myself, [The whole time I was down here I didn’t go up any slopes! Let alone any big enough for me to reach the surface.]
But as I kept going along the path, I came to the edge of a cliff. I supposed that would explain why I didn’t feel like I had gone up in elevation. I scanned over the ground.
I could definitely see a rabbit using this exit, for it was not to far down.
I looked up.
And then I saw it.
A Crystal Dwellers camp.
Right outside of the
Cheetah-dragon-eagle’s base.
This was not good at all.
Thankfully it looked as if they hadn’t been there for long.
I knew I had to tell Sky-stone right away!
Quickly scurrying back through the tunnel, I didn’t get far before I heard a voice behind me hiss, ( Do I sssmell a sssquirrel? )
I froze.
A Crystal Dweller!
( Yesss! I do believe we do! ) another one growled.
I was surrounded...
