Clearly simply moving into the Sky Castle and engaging
the Sky King, more commonly known as
King Druul,wasn't too practical.
What really went down was that Ilvir,Issac and Marry came across a renegade
Sky Castle soldier named
Slar who already had a woreable plan to
assassinate
King Druul.
Simply put Slar had worked his way into the service, obtained
a Cloud Hammer with telescopic sights, gained the trust of and now rode rode on the
back of one of those mere-drakes ( mentioned somewhere)
and had spent the last year
observing the public activities of the
highly
reclusive
King Druul.
Very rarely did the Sky King go out when his oppressed
peoples could see him but Slar had learned that once ever 99 days, the early Dawn of the Aeyrie Moons
King Druul took that
big air dragon out for a solitary
flight.
Slar had traced the air dragons route on a map and realized
it came just within range
of the old ruined
Book Depositary Tower that was nine miles away from the Sky Castle
For the uninformed
think
Lee Harvey Oswald,President Kennedy
and a rifle with telescopic sights.
However Slar just didn't have it in him to carry out the deed.
Issac and Ilvir and Marry did.
Slar had shown them the map,the Cloud Hammer and soon
Issac,Ilvir and Marry took
over Slar's idea.
So it was
on the 99th day, whilst Marry and Ilvir were elsewhere
that Issac set up the Cloud Hammer on the
roof of
the Book Depository Tower
in the dawn light and wited
for the air dragon, with the Sky King aboard,to come
within range.
The deed itself was done quickly
"SNAPPP" and the figure aboard the startled giant air dragon snapped
his head to one side
and then slumped apparently lifelessly down, tethered in place
by his riding harness
The air dragon roared in alarm and thrashed about in confused horror
and Issac quickly departed the Book Depository Tower roof
leaving behind the Cloud Hammer behind some rubble under
a nearby stream.
Now came the hard part ,trying to stay alive
soon
