Jen sighed. As soon as she got out the door, after unlatching it with one of her tentacles, she saw the bus drive down the street. She'd missed it. Again.
"Well, this is just great. This is the best day ever! Absolutely no way it could get worse!"
And with that, her torso erupted. Three new tentacles shot out of her stomach, matching the 6 on her back with 6 now on her front. She cursed, realizing she'd have to be careful with her lies lest she become nothing more than a writhing pile of tentacles. She fished her phone out of her pocket, ready to call her friend Sarah, who drove a small truck to school every day - Jen didn't want her new slime-producing tentacles to coat anyone's seats, after all.
Jen held her phone up to her face, but noticed something strange. Her tentacles no longer counted as skin to her touchscreen smart phone. "God fucking damnit," she said, her slime-coated phone next to useless. She had to enter her security code with her nose, along with finding the phone app and calling up Sarah. "Thanks, asshole," she muttered as she slowly dialed her number.

"Hey Sarah, it's me, Jen."
"Yeah? What's up?"
"So... I woke up late and missed my bus. Mom wouldn't stop pestering me so now I'm even more late. Can you come pick me up?"
"Uh, sorry, no-can-do pal. My truck's in the shop for some new brakes, I had to bike the 5 miles to school today. Sorry!"
"Oh, no, that's ok! No problem. I'll bike too! I've been meaning to start exercising more, with cheer season starting up soon and all."
"Ok, well, seeya later. Sorry I couldn't help out."
"It's fine! Seeya!"

"Oh, oh no," Jen muttered. "Damn it! Why do I keep lying so much? I never used to lie this much!" she said. Her entire torso tingled as 9 new tentacles sprung forth, bulging and twisting, since cheer practice wasn't for a few more months, Jen doesn't own a bike anymore, and she wasn't going to start exercising until cheer was closer. Jen lamented as tentacles sprung up all around her, three more below her already numerous chest and back tentacles and two below her left arm and one below her right. Soon the burning ended and she was left with 22 tentacles. "Might as well lie one more time to even it out," she sighed. "I'm 4 feet tall!" she exclaimed quickly, another tentacle growing in below her right two.

It took Jen around an hour to slither to school, and it was well underway by the time she got there. The local security guard, Mr. Fenman, was out on patrol. He had a tendency to quiz late students on their whereabouts, which Jen dreaded.
"MS. SMITH! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" he bellowed as she slowly slithered towards the school, her mass of tentacles twisting and leaving a trail behind her.
"Oh, uh, nothing, sir!"
"Likely story! Why are you late today, Ms. Smith? And quit hiding your head behind all of your tentacles!"
"Well, I slept through my alarm, and then my parents couldn't drive me here. Mom was already at work and dad's car is broken, you see, so-"
"So what! Cut the excuses!"
"-s-so I tried to call my friend, but she refused, and now I'm here late."
"Alright. And why should I let you in, Smith? This is your 7th time late!"
"Please let me in! I have a very important test today! It might decide my entire future! If I fail it, I'll have to drop out!"
"Well, alright, in you go, but I'll have to mark this down! One more and you get detention for a month!"
Jen slithered in past Mr. Fenman, and groaned as even more tingling began. "Oh, great. More." she thought, the 9 new tentacles growing in around her. A new, sharp tingling befell her back, however. Soon she realized the 2nd part of Kyle's curse had taken effect — she was now spineless, given her entire torso was covered in tentacles! Jen stifled a scream with one of her tentacles as she looked down at the writhing mass of her body, and slowly made the slither to find Kyle

Jen now has 31 tentacles dispersed around her now spineless torso.
