Erika went over to where Maria was laying and pulled on her sister’s new incredibly long brown beard.
“Ow!” Maria cried waking back up.
Erika giggled uncontrollably at the sight.
“Are you done yet?” Maria asked impatiently.
“I’m sorry Maria”. Erika said. “You just look ridiculous with that long bushy beard.”
“I guess you’re right.” Maria said with a sigh. “I really need to shave.”
Maria walked into the bathroom.
Erika could hear Maria shaving with their father’s electric razor for a few minutes.
“All better!” Maria said smiling as she walked out of the bathroom. Her dark beard now trimmed down to an inch in length.
“I trimmed it so I look less like ZZ Top.” She said. “I think It’s much more manageable now.”
Erika was taken aback.
“Umm, Maria...you still have a beard though.”
“Well of course I still have a beard.” Maria said frustratedly. “I’ve been able to grow one since I was 13.”
“But Maria, you didn’t always have a beard though.” Erika said starting to worry about her sister.
“Of course not, Erika.” Maria answered
Erika began to smile.
“I used to have a slight mustache before puberty started and the rest of my beard grew in.” Her sister continued.
Erika’s faint smile faded away.
How much did reality change because of the spray? She thought.
I hope mom can help.
