"Lisa, Gloria you two upstairs?" Jason called.
Gloria's eyes went wide as she looked at her teenage stepmom in front of her. "Oh no dad's here," she whispered. "Quick we gotta change you back."
Lisa smiled and held up a hand. "You could," she mused. "When we first found the ring we would always do that. You have no idea how many close calls we had, but there's an easier way and I'm going to show you."
Gloria nodded her head as she no leaned in, trying to learn the secrets Lisa had learned over the years.
"Like I said the ring changes ages but it also changes reality," she said. "All you have to do is wish that your dad would remember me as your 14 year old friend. The tricky part though is also saying that I would still be his 39 year old wife that everyone remembers."
Gloria nodded her head as she now wished silently, making sure to repeat exactly what Lisa had told her. As she looked at the ring she could see it glow. Although she wasn't certain she hoped the wish would work. Listening to her fathers footsteps she began to break into a cold sweat.
Jason slowly opened the door amd now looked down at his daughter. "Oh hi Gloria," he said. "I didnt realize you had a friend over. Do you know where mom went?"
"Mom said she had to run an, um, errand real quick, " Gloria stammered, still fearful the wish hadn't worked. Jason nodded solemnly as he looked at Gloria and her friend. "Okay but if Lisa is staying over for dinner let me know," he said. "Its my night to cook so I want to make sure I have enough."
Gloria gaped at her father, amazed that she had altered things so much that her father not only remembered her stepmom but thought of Lisa as just another friend of hers.
"Thanks for the offer Mr. Turner," Lisa giggled. "But my parents are expecring me home soon. Maybe some other time."
Jason smiled wishing the girls well before closing the door and headong downstairs. Gloria stared dumbfounded at her stepmom who continued to giggle. "Like I said you can change reality," she smirked
"By the way excellent job Katie wasnt able to pull off that trick for almost a year. Guess your a natural."
Katie sat speechless umable to process the magic she had just pulled off. "So," Lisa asked. "Looks like we have maybe am hour before dinner. What would you like to try next?"
