Upon opening the book, a few tendrils of what looked like black vines lurched out of the book and hooked on to Ricky's face. They wrapped around the struggling boy's face and tore into his flesh. The thin vines struck his blood vessels and started pumping him full of a dark, thick liquid. He tried to rip the book from his face, but the vines were so deeply latched that it was pointless. Thick black ooze was pumping into his veins, taking over the blood in them. More vines creeped down his neck and onto his arms, stopping their thrashing and seeping more ooze into his body. His arms were pulled tightly to his sides as they pierced his abdomen and spread down his legs. From every incision, the crimson blood spurted out from him as it was replaced by the thick black substance being pumped into his body. Ricky tried to scream, but the vines had wrapped themselves around his mouth and were starting to cut off his air. His body slightly puffed as the ooze started filling his veins faster than his blood could drain. His veins pumped out of his skin, looking dark and distended. Ricky was becoming lightheaded from the lack of oxygen, but remained persistent to remove the vines which had all but mummified him. Two strands of vines grew over his eyes, forcing him to close them.
His last sight before he passed out was the vines tunneling under his eyelids and into his eyes.
After half an hour, the vines started decaying. They turned into rotten dust which blew away into the afternoon sky. The punctures the vines made were healed almost instantly. His veins receded to their normal size, but were still an ink black color. His mouth and nose were free, and Ricky began to breathe again. The vines in his eyes melted away, leaving his eyes a rich red color as opposed to his normal blue. The ancient book self combusted, as it seemed KT was only a vessel for the vines to infect a human. Ricky seemed to be back to normal. However, his veins started to burn a brilliant white light. His entire circulatory system was alight with a magical energy that overtook his body. It pulled on his spine, making him grow to 5 feet tall. It pulled his arms and legs, making them proportional. The energy forced into his muscles, pumping them with energy and increasing their size to a nice proportion. His face was molded and reconstructed into a sharp, chiseled, handsome face with a fine coat of facial hair. His penis was stretched and thickened, as well as his balls to give him quite the endowment. The energy finished by making his dirty long hair short and wavy and gave him a fine coat of body hair. As suddenly as the energy had began, it had ended, and left Ricky with a newly sculpted hunky body.
Ricky jolted awake mere seconds after the energy left him. He looked over to see the book, but found a pile of ash being swept away by the wind. He scanned his body for the vines, but saw no evidence that the vines had ever attached themselves to him. All that was different was his new height and muscles. He felt over his body to verify they were real. And indeed, they were. They felt smooth and shapely, but rock hard and chiseled. He found that he could flex his new muscles with ease, popping his pecs and flexing his biceps. He spent a good ten minutes "exploring" his new body and wondering how the hell those vines did this to him.
