"What about a Latina?"
Jeff thought it over. "Not a bad choice. There's a large community in the neighborhood a few blocks over. I wouldn't be hard for you to blend in. In fact, I may be able to help."
He pulled something out of his wallet. "This is Juliana. She and I dated for a bit, before breaking it off last summer. She kinda looks like you, so the computer won't have any problem copying this image. Just scan it in."
"Okay. But give me some privacy."
Once Jeff was gone, Jenny fed the picture into the computer before selecting "Latina" from her options. She found the "ENTER" button and pressed it.
Her skin began to darken, but only until it was a light shade of brown, not a huge step down from what she was before. Her hair remained tied up in its braid, but it turned black as coal. Hell, the only real change she could notice was that her lips puffed up a bit, her eyebrows got slightly thicker, and she was now wearing a crop top, shorts, and sandals with little flowers on the straps.
Juliana picked up the photo Jeff had left. He wasn't kidding; they did look nearly identical. What a coincidence...
Just then, Jeff returned. "Finished, Juliana?"
"Yeah, but are you sure this'll work out. What if I run into the real Juliana?"
"About that. She left town months ago with her parents to study overseas. It was all done very quickly and discreetly, so not many people outside of their small group of close friends knows. So as long as you're careful, you should have no problems."
"Okay, then. Can you get me to the neighborhood? I need to begin my...research."
