Derrick stared into the beautiful face of his centaur. Although he was still a little scared, and still a lot confused, the overwhelming sense of love and contentment he felt was far stronger. No way he could give this up! Stepping forward, Derrick hugged the centaur's equine chest and then looked up with adoration. "I want to be yours."
The centaur nodded and smiled, resuming hi rubbing of Derrick's head and face. Turning, the boy watched in the mirror as his features continued to swell and change, soon no longer recognizable in any way. The physical changes slowed, and finally stopped. Derrick was identical to the other stable boy he had seen earlier, at least in basic form. He was one of the mixed species creatures, an individual, but definitely no longer human. The centaur continued to rub Derrick's head, and he felt a little sleepy. His mouth dropped open, and his eyes took on a dull, vacant look. He frowned slightly as he felt his thoughts thicken and knew the centaur was emptying out his shrunken brain. But that was a good thing. His Centaur would only do good things to him. Doubts faded, and a goofy grin replaced the frown.
Derrick sighed happily as he was pulled into a hug. Then the Centaur whickered that he was hungry, and Derrick scampered off to bring some apples and grain for his Master.
