"Don't play dumb with me. I love video games." he boasted. While Elissa was going through her collection of games his smile dulled. His brows lowered into a concerned look and he asked "You remember that, right?"
She looked over to Ashton and said "Of course, silly. It was just a rhetorical question, for funsies. I made it so that we both still know about the change, but everyone else thinks it has always been this way."
“Okay, this situation is just like really weird to me.”
“You’re the one talking. A few minutes ago I was still a guy!”
Ashton chuckled and Elissa giggled. “You got me.” he admitted as they locked eyes with each other. Her beautiful mahogany eyes, he could almost drown in them if it weren't for the fact that she’d already looked away. He was flustered and his mind was wandering.
“I found it!”
“You found what?”
“Ninja Tournament 3. It’s only the best game of our generation! Well maybe not the best but it’s still pretty good.”
Elissa went to the console and popped in the game while Ashton sat back and admired the cutting-edge tv that was plastered on the wall. While it was booting up she handed him one of the controllers.
"Aren't you glad I own a lot more video games now? I have to warn you though, I'll probably kick your ass now that I'm a gaming connoisseur.” "Don't get too cocky, misses. It seems the transformation has already gone to your head. Then again that was kind of the point." he smirked. Elissa rolled her eyes and joked "Now that we've got the Chronivac we can also fix your sense of humor." "Oh, shut up." Ashton groaned as he gave her a quick nudge to the shoulder.
They played some matches before Ashton said “You know if you would like to change something about me you can always ask. Seems only fair.”
“What?” she uttered for a moment as she was vigorously pushing buttons, focusing on the task at hand. Then she remembered.
“Oh, is this about that comment I made earlier. I was just joking, I like your tongue-in-cheek humor.”
“Still if you’re up for experimenting we could. It could be quite fun.”
“We can talk about that later. Instead you should keep your head on the game doofus, I’m in the lead.”
“Only by one point.”
“That’s still a lead if I’ve ever seen one.”
When they were done playing they sat next to each other at the foot of her bed with them exchanging some intimate glances from time to time. They talked about how different it will be in this new reality, after which Ashton said “So is there anything you’d like to change about me? I also haven’t made up my mind yet, it’s all just a rosy fog right now. Not that that's a bad thing.” He smiled with glee, awaiting her response.
