So there was Skysliner wounding as many of the attacking elflord war party as possible.
She knew that when this was all said and done they'd need prisoners to use as bargaining chips with the
elflord Chief if they
hoped to cross through elflord territory and into
the Wastes of Howling Werewolf Canyons.
So when she looked over and noticed the pile of headless
dead elflord warriors in front of Damon
she walked over and said
"Do you believe in reincarnation?"
"Huh" said Damon as he dispatched
another warrior to his maker
with a
"BLOOMMM"
"No not really,why? he said
"We'll need prisoners soon enough" replied Skysliner
in a scolding tone
"shoot to wound,not to kill"
"Out here the motto the only good
elflord is a dead elflord doesn't work"
And so after a while the war party galloped off and after rounding up prisoners
and decently covering the dead elflords with
canvas
the wagon train moved on
and soon enough came apon the pass
where tens of thousands of elflords stood on either side
pointing their spears
and bows and arrows at the
approaching wagon train.
The wagon train master carried a white flag of parley and stepped forward and the
elflord Chief trotted forward with his
magnificent white
Pegasus and the two chatted
then shook hands
The wagon train master returned to the settlers and explained that the Chief would allow the wagon train to temporarily
keep the prisoners to do with what the settlers pleased
but would exchange his son as hostage if the wagon train would hand over
one of their own as hostage as well.
The Chief and the wagon train Master had both
agreed that Prince Damon would be their
exchanged hostage.
Damon was about to step forward and go into captivity when he realized
the wagon train master and the Chief were
referring to the
actor Robert Bolde,who everyone
thought was
Prince Damon.
And so "Squire Bolde" smirked behind his covered mouth
as the protesting actor
was led away.
And so soon Damon found himself seated beside Lady Monica
and Warrior Jumping Fox,son of the Chief.
The wagon train slowly rolled forward through the pass
under the watchful eyes of all
those
elflord bowmeNaturally Jumping Fox thought Damon made a beautiful young woman
