"How did you let him out of your sight?" Vivian demanded as she looked at her husband Derrick as they looked around for Sam who had vanished just a few minutes before. They were right by the horse pasture as they looked around, the only thing they saw was a mare with two foals, one of which had just finished nursing.
"I don't know, I literally just looked away and when I looked back he was gone!" Derrick said as the two of them started to panic. "What are we going to do?"
"Lets calm down, maybe someone who works here can help us," Vivian said with a sigh as they looked back around, there was no sign of Sam anywhere. They finally found an attendant, they figured that a missing child would probably put them on alert so they'd help look for him. "Excuse me ma'am, we can't find our son."
"I see, where did you last see him?" The attendant asked as she looked the couple over. If the child had already been transformed, which was likely the case given the filter that had been placed around the exhibits. The question of course was whether or not the child had already imprinted permanently on a new mother.
"He was over by the horses," Vivian said as she pointed over towards the fence. "Right over where that mare is with her foals."
The attendant nodded, there was supposed to be only one foal, a filly, with that mare and she figured that the other foal was probably the couple's son. Well, it hadn't been that long, as long as their transformations went quickly then the mental re-writing could be done quickly and the zoo would have a new stud and broodmare either way.
"I'll send word to Zoo Security, maybe he accidentally entered the horse enclosure," the attendant finally said. "We can start looking around in..."
"If he's in there with those animals then we want to look around in there too," Derrick said. "He's our son and he loves horses, we need to make sure he's safe."
"Alright, lets go then," the attendant said and lead them over towards the entrance into the horse enclosure. She smiled and looked back at the couple as fur started to creep over their bodies and their ears were already changed into horse ears.
