You tap your finger on an area of the map, "The Underwater Ruins sound like a blast... Let's check it out!" You turn to Jen, she's got a grin stuck on her face that says she's just about ready for anything. She takes off ahead of you then turns around to egg you on.
"Hey, last one to find the ruins of Atlanta is buying the next round!" She turns on her heels and makes her way to the attraction as you call out behind her, running to catch up.
"I think you mean Atlantis!" You shout with a small chuckle, "And I'm pretty sure we don't have to pay for anything here!" You see Jen stumble and lose her balance up ahead, you make a dash and manage to catch her before she falls. "Ooph, looks like those beers are getting to ya!" Come to think of it, you're feeling pretty tipsy yourself. As a matter of fact, you're feeling amazing! So much so, you can't help but break out into a fit of laughter, your girlfriend joining in as well.
Almost beside yourself in mirth, you can't help but wonder if there is somewhere you can go to drink, laugh and have a good time. That's when you hear a song break out from a building not too far ahead called 'The Pyrate's Coav". You guess it's supposed to be a tavern, but from where you're standing it looks like the stern of a large, wooden sail-ship. You get Jen's attention, "Hey, sounds like they're having a great time in there! Wanna check it out?" She nods pretty enthusiastically, ready for another drink to keep the good-times going.
You step into the eighteenth-century tavern and it feels like you've stepped on to the movie set for a pirate movie. Gaggles of rough-looking men and buxom wenches parade around the room in their frilled clothing, leather footwear, tattoos, patches... only one peg-leg, surprisingly. A group of them are shouting some kind of shanty, "Row! Me bully boys! We're in a hurry, boys! We've got a long way to go! We'll sing and we'll toast and bid 'farewell' to the coast! Row! Me bully boys, row!" You and Jen can't help but laugh with them when they break apart after the little tune.
Soon enough, you and Jen find a spot at the bar. You don't really know what to order, but you see a hand-written sign behind the counter advertising the 'Howse Speshel" You look at Jen, she just shrugs, so you wave for the bartender and place your order, "Two 'house specials' for the lady and I!" You say in your best chivalric tone, Jen giggles a little at the irony of doing so in a place like this. The scarred and eye-patched bartender grunts and turns away to grab the drinks.
" 'Ere ya are, girlie." The piratical bar-man slings a mug of some frothy brew toward Jen. She surprises you by catching it and taking a long draught almost immediately. When she puts it down, she lets out a large belch and smiles contentedly at you.
"Wow, that stuff's really good..." She says as another call from the bartender signals your incoming drink. Not one to be outdone, you grab yours off the bar with a little flourish and twist in your seat before slamming back almost half the pint. You put your drink down and put on your best shit-eating grin. The tangy, bittersweet flavour of the beverage is strong on your tongue, but you feel like you could drink it all night. Looking over at Jen, you can see she has almost finished her beer. "Think you can keep up with me?" She says with a wink. You nod your head, ready to get this competition started. "No points for style, though..." She finishes her drink, just a little dribbling out around the corner of her lips. You shake your head in amusement and finish the first beer of many...
