An emotional embrace turned into a rushed explanation of what had happened from Lisa's perspective, but it was interrupted by a loud knock.
"Are you alright in there?" shouted Heather, Lisa's annoying next door neighbor. Heather had a single and spent most of her time trying to force her way into Lisa's life. She wasn't the worst person in the world or anything, but she was often just too weird for Lisa to want anything to do with.
Heather fiddled with the handle but, thankfully, Julie had instinctively locked the door behind her. After all, entering Lisa's apartment was usually a prelude to them smoking a bowl together. Something that Cassandra, the bitchy RA, was always threatening them over.
"I can't hear you!" bellowed Heather from the other side of the door. "I'm going to go get Cassandra!"
"Hurry!" said Lisa to Julie, who had only just caught her breath, "We have to get over to the device!"
It felt like it took an eternity for the tiny women to run across the floor. Lisa was going to enlarge Julie first, but when she tried to hit the button, she was less than thrilled with the results. Julie grew all right -- but by a tiny degree. She went from just under an inch in height to just over.
"Fuck!" screamed Lisa, hitting the switch again and again. It took a few blasts, but Julie soon towered over her. That is to say, the sexy coed had reached a height of about six inches.
"Switch places," Julie shouted, excited to walk over to her little friend. "I'm going to have a much easier time pressing the button now."
"Thanks," Lisa nodded, catching a breath that was immediately taken again as she walked past Julie's toned legs, now several times her own height. A few blasts later, though, and Lisa and Julie were each roughly action figure size. That, unfortunately, is when a key turned in the lock and the dorm room door opened. Lisa and Julie instinctively darted behind a large stuffed bear so that they wouldn't be spotted.
"Hello?" shouted Cassandra. "You're sure anyone is here?"
"I thought so," said Heather.
"Maybe we should just ask them for help," said Julie.
"Come on," sighed Lisa. "Do you really want to have to deal with either of those two?"
"Yeah," said Julie. "But what if --"
"Hey!" said a booming voice, "What's this?"
