Troy didn't want to touch anyone so he entered the magic shop looking for ways to avoid becoming the familiar of whoever he touched next.
What Troy didn't know was what the building meant when it said, "the collection of artifacts was no longer kept safe." If he would have understood that, he would have been scared.
There were evil wizards that wanted to get their hands on these magic artifacts. There were few of these wizards but enough to be very dangerous. Even scarier though was the way artifacts had a tendency to drift. That is, the artifacts didn't just sit in one place. They very slowly crept away and now many of these artifacts were scattered all around the city just waiting for some naive person to take one of these artifacts home.
One of these artifacts had already split someone. Jhean found it and took it home. The next morning, four Jhean's woke up. There was lustful Jhean, competitive Jhean, intellectual Jhean, and compassionate Jhean. Lustful Jhean only wanted sex and didn't really care how or where he got sex. Competitive Jhean only wanted to win and would challenge anyone to any kind of competition. Intellectual Jhean only wanted to do intellectual activities like trigonometry and mechanical engineering. Compassionate Jhean became a social justice warrior fighting for civil rights and helping the poor.
Another artifact had yet to be discovered but it would give a person the ability to speak things into reality. Whatever the person said would become true. This power however would not interpret words too literally. This power would understand what you meant and give you that instead of what you said. This power would not change anything instantly. In fact, you wouldn't notice anything changing at all but reality would change so that what you say would have always been true and no one would remember it being any different.
