The virus affected many people in different ways. Some family members managed to escape the infection when their loved ones started showing signs, and when they realized the full effects of the virus more often than not they left their loved ones in fear of losing their own humanity.
That's what happened to Harry Parks, his fiance had been out of town when he came down with the virus initially and once it became common knowledge that the infected would become horses she had broken off the engagement. Now he was transforming into a black stallion and was in stage 5 nearing stage 6, so he had completely abandoned clothes and looked almost completely like a horse other than still standing on his hind legs.
It was a weird sensation knowing that your humanity was almost gone, but he was coming to terms with it. And besides, it looked like he wouldn't completely lose his human side at least, still it took a lot of coping. It didn't hurt that there were other people that were going through the same thing he was with only a few people left uninfected in his town.
He got up this particular morning in early spring and sat down to eat his oatmeal, his fingers were getting to be too stiff to hold a spoon so he wound up eating it straight out of the bowl. He sighed a little and looked over at a picture he had of him with his fiance, it had been taken after he had proposed to her, they looked so happy together, but this virus had changed everything.
He sighed and went into the bathroom and looked at himself in the full length mirror, if there was one advantage to this change it was that he didn't have to worry about shaving in the morning. The anthro stallion stared back at him, the tail having finished its growth, he looked almost like a complete horse, he could barely even remember what he looked like before the virus if it wasn't for the pictures he still had.
He wondered how long that was going to last. A lot of people seemed to not even recognize the humans in old pictures as themselves, was he going to wind up like his friend Steve maybe? He could speak sure, but he didn't even remember being human by the time he hit stage 5 and had started up what he called his "herd" with whatever mares he could get to join.
He sighed and looked down at the sheath that hid his cock. A lot of things were going through his mind, he had started to smell the mares nearby and they were getting close to mating season. What was going to happen? Would he even be capable of mating with a mare?
He shook his head and walked back out before he looked at his phone for a moment. He actually considered calling his ex, he didn't know what might've happened to her, maybe she'd be willing to hear him out.
Before he could do anything...
