Kyle was trying to come up with a plan. Kyle and Ally were sitting at the kitchen table, and had just finished some cereal. He had considered having Ally eat like an animal again, but he didn't want to pull the same trick twice. That seemed old hat now.
"What did you think about yesterday?"
Ally looked up from her cellphone, pondering the question. The events of the previous day were foggy for some reason, but she vaguely remembered having fun.
"It was fun, I guess." she muttered, before turning her attention back to her phone.
Kyle sighed. She obviously didn't remember the changes. The hypnosis was working as he had worded it. Still, he wondered how the magic was affecting his sister.
That gave him an idea. Kyle ran back to his room, and grabbed the coin. It was time to do some research.
"Hey sis, look at this!" he said excitedly.
"What are you..." she looked up from her phone, and saw the spinning coin. Once again, her eyes glazed over, and she slumped forward, hypnotized.
Kyle smiled, marveling at the coin's power. It was clearly no ordinary toy. He noted that its effect on Ally was much more powerful than before. It had only taken a glance to entrance his sister. This thing was amazing.
He turned his attention to his sister. He wanted to determine exactly what she knew.
"Ally, are you a dog?"
"No." replied Ally, frowning slightly.
"Ally, have you ever been hypnotized before?"
"No." said Ally, more confidently this time.
Kyle nodded. It was what he expected. Ally had no idea what happened to her. Still, he wondered what she did remember.
"Ally, what did you do after you mowed the lawn yesterday?"
She considered it for a second. "I don't remember."
Kyle hesitated. How was Ally supposed to be embarrassed if she didn't remember anything? On the other hand, Kyle feared what would happen if Ally ever found out about this. He finally had an idea.
"Ally, while you are awake, you will not remember turning into a dog. You will believe you acted like a normal human being. However..." Kyle paused for dramatic effect. "While you are hypnotized, you will remember turning into a dog. You will remember every minute of your canine antics. Do you understand?"
"When I'm awake, I only remember being human, but when I'm hypnotized, I remember being a dog."
Kyle smirked. "Now then Ally, what did you do after you mowed the lawn?"
Ally suddenly had a dumb smile on her face. "I turned into a dog!" she happily proclaimed.
Kyle was taken aback by her mood swing. He stammered out a response. "So... Um... How was it?"
"I loved it! I wish I could be a dog forever. That would be so much fun!" Ally was getting more excited by the minute.
Kyle started staring at his sister. She wanted to be a dog? What the hell was happening?
"But, but, what about your human life?"
"What about it? I'm a single 19-year old going to beauty school. It's not like I'm going to change the world or anything. Nobody would miss me."
Kyle frowned. That wasn't true at all. "I would miss you."
Ally rolled her eyes. "No offense bro, but I'm kind of a jerk to you. Don't you get tired of me?"
He had to admit she had a point. "But what about our parents?"
"They've been wanting me out of the house since I graduated high school. And before you ask, most of my friends have gone off to college, so no one would notice if I vanished off the face of the earth. This is the perfect opportunity!"
"But, a dog?"
"When I transformed, it was the happiest moment of my life. I've always been a screw up as a human being. I never really had a goal in life. Now I do. Being a dog was what I was always meant to be. No more worrying about grades or papers, no more human stress. I just get to play and have fun. It's so much easier than being human. Please let me be your dog. I swear I'll be good."
