“Mia?” The other dragon head snapped in your direction, and it’s eyes looked like Mia’s. You both stare for a second before screaming in terror. You try to back away from each other, but you only get a few feet away. You both look down to see something worse.
You knew the costume had somehow become your body, but you completely forgot the fact that it was two headed! You both scream more as you both try to get away from each other, but you don’t get anywhere.
“Get away from me!” Mia yelled, pushing against the base of your new neck. You mimic her motion, saying “I’m trying” as you do. After almost half an hour pushing, tugging, and screaming, you both give up. You just lay there, panting, but soon feel your chest spasming. Crying enters your ears as you look at your girlfriend. She had begun crying. She noticed you, and just pressed her head against your neck.
“Wh-wh-why did this happen? Why us?” It was clear she was terrified by what happened. In all honesty, you were too, you just hid it better. After sitting there for another minute, you finally opened your new, toothy mouth.
“I... I don’t know,” you said in a worried tone. Why would a costume do this?! It was just a costume, right? Wait. What if...? No. It couldn’t be. Could if?
“This is going to sound nuts,” you begin. “But what if that magic shop was really magic?” Mia stopped crying, though some tears were stil in her eyes. She then proceeded to punch your arm with her own.
“Something like this happens and you’re making jokes!?” You instinctually tried to rub your arm, only to have the wing on your side open up. You look up, remembering that was your left arm, before speaking again.
“I’m serious, Mia. Can you think of literally anything else that would do this?!” Mia was about to respond, but just stared silently with her mouth open. She gave an slight shake of her head before tears started welling again. You brought your head closer to her’s, a hint of a worried smile on your face.
“Well. At least I’m attached to the most beautiful and amazing person I know.” Mia could not help but smile, still worried, but smiling.
