In the middle of the Spring Festival there was a big stirring, because the first of the Spring Events of the Mister and Miss Farmhand Competition were about to take place. Because of this, many competitors went to the special "prep tents" to get ready. The General Outline of the Competition was: The events would take place over the three seasons when farm work would take place. Spring would involve the usual gardening/farming tasks that involved getting the produce in place, such as plowing, clearing stones, and planting. Summer events would be the special care, such as weeding, trimming, pruning, and similar tasks. The Fall Harvest events would consist of the "traditional" harvest amusements, modernized for competition, as well as gathering food "competitively".
There were also other events that were part of farming, such as herding. These events often featured dogs, with the most popular couples being Sarah and Malice and their bondmates.
For Example, the Grain Harvest competition not only involved harvesting grain by hand, but also involved keeping the grain "bundled" without falling apart for the bundle to count toward the final score. Another event, that was taking place during the Spring Festival involved collecting the most stones from the newly plowed field, and then "shot-put tossing" them toward goals with their team name on it. The "team" that got the highest overall score in all three Competitions, totaled at the Fall Harvest Events but divided by weight class, would be the winner for that weight class, while The highest scoring one overall would win the title Mister or Miss Farmhand. The Grand Prize for winning the title of Mister or Miss Farmhand were gold medals showing their victory, and first in line for the Fall Feast.

One of the more looked forward to events was the "Sprint Plow Event". It involved horse Animalians wearing harnesses with weighted plows and sprinting for a certain amount of time and the winner of the event having plowed the furthest. Another thing that was being planned was that the official place where the Mister and Miss Farmhand Competition would be a kind of Communal Farm for the entire community.

Some of the more "messier" events, such as the "grape press" and the planned mudwrestling event, was moved closer to warmer weather, much to the disappointment of several "fans". Other Events, which involved breaking things like melons (with either weapons or fists), would definitely be part of the Fall Festival. Still, there was much to look forward to, at least initially.
