It looked like Mary Elise wasn't going to be a problem anymore. At the very least, her spirit had been effectively flattened by realizing what she has truly lost. Kellie hoped that this might the turning point for Mary and she'll start trying to redeem herself. Until then, Kellie wasn't going to talk to her until she was honestly trying to change herself.
But that wasn't all that Kellie still had to fix. She had been too presumptive of Lisa. She had thought that Lisa in this timeline was becoming a bully by the way she was treating Mary as well as her reckless uses of the ring. Seeing what an emotional sadist Mary had become, Kellie could see that ostracizing was not unwarranted. But the way that Kellie had threatened Lisa with the Ring had definitely gone too far. Now she needed to make amends.
They went over to Katie's house. Kellie made a point of leaving her Ring back at home. Ann let the two in and they headed up to Lisa's room. Katie knocked on the door and called, "Lisa, there's someone who wishes to say something to you."
Lisa opened the door a crack and paled when she saw Kellie. "Why did you bring her here?" she demanded.
"Look, I only came here to talk. I don't have my ring. Katie's the only one here with magic," said Kellie. That was untrue, but Kellie couldn't do much magic besides using the ring. Once things have been settled, she was going to ask Merlin for more magic lessons.
"If she tries anything, I'll be the one with the Ring," said Katie, showing the ring on her finger.
Lisa hesitantly opened the door to let the two of them in. "What do you want?" asked Lisa.
"I wanted to explain myself and to apologize," said Kellie. She spent quite a bit of time telling Lisa how she had came from another timeline, a timeline where their group of friends included Mary Elise. Kellie admitted she let her desire to make things match her own timeline blind her to the fact that Mary had become an awful person in this one. Katie also told how they confronted Mary by showing her how she lost the chance to have her father back by her evil actions.
By this point, Lisa seemed to be getting over her fear. "You know, I should feel glad that Mary has finally gotten what she deserved," said Lisa, "But I don't really think I can be happy with how she'll never get her dad back. I know I would feel crushed if I lost my only chance to get Mom back."
"I'm afraid I can't bring her back either," said Kellie, "I can't raise the dead. But I can make up for having threatened you."
"You didn't know who you were really supporting," said Lisa, "Maybe you're right. Maybe if I let Mary apologize when that fight first happened, she wouldn't have turned so rotten. And I shouldn't have attacked you like that without hearing you out. I've got a temper problem, I realize that."
"You always were a fiery redhead," said Katie with a bit of a smirk.
Lisa smiled back at her sister. "Yeah. I do need to watch how I let that anger out," she said.
"Even so, I shouldn't have threatened to make you too young," said Kellie, "I'm really sorry about it."
"I'm not going to hold it against you. I've see what not forgiving does to people," said Lisa.
"Lisa..." said Katie in a warning tone.
"Do you really need it formally? Alright, fine. I forgive you, Kellie. Is that all?" asked Lisa.
"Well, I really want us to be square, so I'll let you have one free shot at me with the Ring," said Kellie.
"Really?" asked Lisa a bit suspiciously.
"Really. Just don't do anything permanent or really stupid with it," said Kellie, "I just moved back here. Just one day as whatever you see fit to make me."
"And I'll be the one officiating the change so you don't let your anger get the best of you," said Katie.
Lisa rolled her eyes and said, "Fine."
