With Spring transitioning into summer, there were several new "recruits" for several projects. Some were really rare, while others were some with rare diseases.

One Horizon Scientist entered the lounge after meeting one of the newest members of Project Phoenix.
"How is Drew?" asked one of his co-workers.
"What I want to know is why are his legs so bloated while the rest of him is pretty normal?" said the scientist.
"He has a disease caused by a parasitic infection. It's generally called elephantiasis." said another co-worker.
"Well I'm optimistic." said one researcher, "One of us thought to test a sample of parasitic roundworms with the Virus. Not only were the roundworms NOT uplifted, the Virus acted like white blood cells encountering regular viruses (which the Virus seemed to think the roundworms were). It was a little disconcerting to watch those roundworms' death throes."
"Does he say what he wants to be?" asked the first coworker.
"He said that he wants to be a black mamba." said the scientist.
"We should let the female uplifted one from the Zoo know that he's available." said the researcher.

Another volunteer was another "centennial" from WWII, but instead of a spy, Joshua was a field medic that was drafted for the D-Day invasion while he was still in medical school. His old friend Daniel was able to get him a "voucher" for him, but what was relatively new was a mandatory sign-up for studying "regressive hypersexuality", which was explained to him as "sexual overdrive due to restored youth". After he was converted into a double-dosed komodo dragon, he not only signed up for the newly formed Animalia Bodybuilding Circuit, or A-BC (to differentiate it from the network of the relatively same name, but he also registered as both a competitor and MMA physician for UFC-A and Mesozoic Fight Club.
The physician position was almost guaranteed for him because after the war, he was able to return to medical school and get his medical license more quickly than other premed students at the time due to his field medic training synergizing with his lessons. His only other requirement was that he brush his teeth and use mouthwash four times a day instead of the regular two times due to komodo dragons being known to have diseases in their saliva which they used while hunting.

Another really surprising one was another Japanese woman who was basically confined to a wheelchair because of her P-cup bust. One of the primary reasons for her coming here was not only the fact that she didn't have the back strength to stand for long periods of time. Another was basically personal history.
Because of her early "development" in her first year of Jr. High School, that didn't really seem to slow down until graduation, she had to face relentless teasing throughout her entire secondary school career. Even after high school, her immense bust seemed to really limit her career choices. Fortunately, Andrew managed to see the person "behind the bust" (semi-intentional) and managed to get her into Project Dinotopia as a Brachiosaur like him. Fortunately for both of them, there was a mandatory "date period" of at least one year before actually committing to anything. To Tyra's semi-envious notice, Jen (similar to her Japanese name) now held the record for "largest Dinotopian bust". But instead of jibing/teasing her about it, she helped her adjust to Animalia's relaxed standards of nudity.
The only one who was surprised about her was Dr. Jones. He might have been making up stories about past patients, but he didn't realize that one of them was about a future member of Animalia.

Even though some of the newest members of Animalia might join for different reasons, they were able to find new futures in Animalia.
