The police officer at the Decrux crash site looked down the cliff side at the wreckage at the bottom of the ravine. He already made the call for a tow truck and an ambulance. However, there was this small voice that Alice's life may be in danger, and he had a duty to see if he could help even if she was criminal on the run. After looking down the cliff to figure out a safe way to get down, he took his shoes off and made his way down. He was a were-cougar, and he changed to his fursona to make his way down the cliffside. Normally, changing to his fursona would destroy his clothing, but the Moon Lake police uniforms were designed to stretch to handle certain fursonas without being destroyed.
Once he got down to the car, he shined his flashlight inside the car. Once he looked inside, he almost immediately turned away. He had a hard time keeping down his lunch. Once he took a few breaths to compose himself, he reached in and touched Alice's neck. It only confirmed what he saw with his eyes.
"Dispatch," he said into his radio, "Cancel the ambulance. Send in a meat wagon instead. Suspect is confirmed deceased."

Officer LePrune was at the Jenkins house trying to calm everyone down and get some questioning in when his phone went off.
"Officer LePrune," he said. After listening on the phone for a bit, he sighed. "I see," he said in reply, "I'm at the Jenkins house now. I'll be heading to the station soon." He nodded his head before he hung up.
"What was that about?" Harold asked.
"I'm afraid that there's been a sudden development in the case. I can't say anything right now, but as soon as we can let you know, we will." He then took a look at Melissa and Trevor before saying, "I imagine you folks have quite a few things to talk about already. Thanks for your time. We'll be in touch." He put his hat back on before leaving the house.
Virginia looked at Harold and asked, "What was that about?" Harold simply shrugged.
"Well, umm..." Trevor interjected, "I promised my folks that I'd rush back home once I got Mel here. So, I gotta run back." He turned for the door before turning right back. "Oh, and my folks wanted to invite you and Mel over for dinner tomorrow night. If that's all right with you."
Harold smiled and said, "Sure. What time?"
"Around six. I'll tell my folks to expect you." With that said, he moved back to the door and waved goodbye. Before leaving, Mel rushed up to him and gave him a kiss. Harold could only look away.
"See you tomorrow?" Mel asked softly.
"Definitely," Trevor said before going through the door.
Mel stared at the door for a bit before a throat clearing was heard behind her. She turned around to see Virginia envelop her in a hug. "I'm so happy for you, Mel!"
"Ah," Mel said rather embarrassed, "Thanks?"
Virginia looked at her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, smiling proudly. She then looked at Harold and said, "It's getting late for me too. How about we continue our plans tomorrow?"
He sighed and said, "All right."
Virginia frowned and rubbed his shoulder. "Don't be like that," she said softly. "We'll see each other again shortly. Just a weretigress needs her sleep." She gave a quick kiss on the cheek before heading out the door."
Once Virginia left, Mel turned towards her dad, arms crossed over her now ample chest and an eyebrow raised. "What was that about?"
"Oh, not much," Harold said as he looked at her daughter. "And I see you had a busy night. Something that you and I need to talk about." He then stifled a yawn before continuing. "But it's getting late. I want you to go to bed. Now. We'll talk in the morning."
Mel, still on her high from her first transformation, wasn't all that tired. But she could tell that her dad really didn't want to talk things over yet. "Fine," she said before going upstairs. Harold followed her soon after once he turned off the lights. Tomorrow morning was going to be interesting.
