Jesse walked out of the building with his hulking roommate. Nick was 7 feet tall and unbelievably attractive. He walked with perfect posture and an imposing stride.
As Jesse looked around, he saw in a mixed state of horror and joy that everyone was now identical to Nick. Not only that, but the campus had changed too. Everything was bigger. Door frames were taller, the paths were wider, and everything was farther away. The lecture hall they had just left now read recreational center. They were in the center of what seemed to be a grand utopian park.
Just then, something whizzed past Jesse. He looked forward quickly to see someone jogging at speeds that shouldn’t have been possible. But upon further glance, some of the buck naked men were all jogging around the path at the same breakneck speed.
Nick stared down at Jesse. He had been acting odd lately. Ever since his Chroniva change was supposed to trigger. But Nick, as smart as he was could not figure out what was different. This all seemed the same. He couldn’t even remember what Jesse had said the change would be.
“Jesse,” he asked. “You’ve been acting real odd lately.”
“Just wait till we get back to the dorm,” Jesse said. He couldn’t wait for Nick to see the changes for himself.
“Nick,” Jesse asked.
“Yeah?”
I’m going to ask you a series of questions,” Jesse explained. “They may seem weird, but answer them truthfully without question.”
Nick now suspicious nodded.
“Is this normal for you?”
“Well yeah. Of course.”
“How fast can you run.”
“Like top speed?”
“Yeah. Let’s go with that.”
“I don’t know. Probably 100 mph? Maybe more?”
Just then, Nick to a great leap into the air and jumped onto the building. He had been waved at by another Nick. The gave each other a manly hand shake and hug before Nick waved him off and crashed down to the pavement.
“Sorry bout that,” Nick said.
“What was that person’s name?” Jesse asked.
“Him?” Nick asked confused. “He’s our neighbor Jesse. Nick. You know.”
“Then who’s our other neighbor.”
Thinking long and hard over why His would be asked, Nick responded with, “Nick and Nick of course. They’ve lived there forever.”
The two boys approached their dorm and entered their room. Jesse was surprised to find that there was no closet anymore. When he inspected Nick’s drawers, he found no clothes of any kind. There was only one bed now. Nick must not have one he thought.
“Can you show me already?” Nick pleaded. “It’s killing me not knowing.”
“Not yet,” Jesse replied. “There’s one more thing I want to do and then I swear I’ll make you aware.”
