After lunch ended, Kayla started walking back to her next period, where she and the other members of the Amberdale Student Council Committee were already preparing for the next college rally and more importantly, elections. As the consecutive Vice President for the student council for over two years in her college career, Kayla was determined to make that track record continue.
Pulling out her phone to quickly check the time before putting it back in the pocket of her tight skinny jeans, Kayla walked with a purpose towards the meeting room.
It only took her a minute before she opened the doors leading into the already starting conference. While making eye contact with each of the five individual members, she sat down on her assigned seat, to the right of Johnathon Engelmann, the student council committee President. Once Kayla, sat down. Johnathon nodded to the rest of the council members, all of them juniors and seniors in college, most of them having either a bored or stressed look on their face.
Kayla however, confidently smiled. After all, she enjoyed her position as Vice President.
However what she did enjoy more was a nice sip of cool water, especially considering her particularly parched throat. Casually unzipping his backpack, she reached inside for her water bottle. As she did so, she felt as if a large sudden wetness touched her hand. Suddenly fearing that her water bottle had spilled inside her backpack, she pulled out her hand to inspect it and the backpack.
Curiously, there was not a single drop of water on her hand, nor after a quick inspection, in her backpack.
Feeling foolish for a second, she quietly berated herself slightly before grabbing her unopened water bottle and took a quick sip before fully focusing on the meeting at hand...
