The dream world is somewhere magical. Usually dreams are mundane or nonsensical, with humans not being barely present and there being no interaction between the dreamer and the dream. Some humans have unlocked their potential: lucid dreamers, they're called. These powerful individuals control the dreams they're in. But that isn't the whole of it.
The other type of interaction is one unrecognized by humans, as reality wraps around the dreamer when it occurs. It is the exact opposite of lucid dreaming - when the dream affects the dreamer. These scenarios are hypothetically rare, but no one ever remembers changing or having someone else change on them.
Greg woke up to the sound of his alarm. It was a Sunday, and he was planning on going to the gym today. He looked at the light trying to creep in through the curtains, and reached over and slammed the off button on his alarm clock. He felt a heaviness in his chest. There would be no gym today.
He sat up in his bed, wondering if getting up was even worth it at this point. He had no chores to do, nowhere really to be. The college student had just finished his term, and it was summer before he had work lined up now. Sure, he could get up and try to at least not be lazy, but if he wasn't going to the gym, he figured all he would end up doing is getting mad at himself.
Greg laid back down. The world could wait. He laid back down on his side, and started to drift back to sleep. Little did he know what type of dream was about to impact him. Greg's real world went dark as he entered the dream world.
