"What is it Shauna?" Asked Luke as he crossed his arms, waiting for an answer.
"A-A flight of d-dragons attacked a v-village nearby, i-i'm the only s-survivor." Stuttered Shauna, she was almost at the verge of crying.
"Could you be give me more details? What type of color the dragons had, the most noticeable features, any detail could help me and Karyu to hunt them down." Asked Luke politely, the woman started tearing up.
"I-I couldn't see t-the dragons for t-too long, t-the chaos made me p-panic." She stuttered again, "I-I'm so s-sorry Sir Luke." said Shauna as she covered her face and broke into a sob.
Luke stayed there thinking, should he and Karyu go there and kill the dragons? Could they both be strong enough to survive that flight?
Eventually, Luke made a decision, "Karyu, get ready, we'll go hunting some fellow dragons." he said as he slowly mounted Karyu, then both of them took into the skies, looking for the nearby city.
While Karyu and Luke were flying, the scarlet dragon started questioning himself, should he be the one to get commands from a mortal? He technically just became a god, no form of dragon could match his strength and inteligence, shouldn't he be the one to command the man who was ridding him? Karyu quickly shook those thoughts away from his head, "No... He gave me a home and he's treating me like a part of his family." he thought as they kept flying towards the nearby city.
After minutes of flying, Karyu and Luke reached the city, it was terrible, the smell of burning filled the air, black charred wood was everywhere and the charred corpses of the city's inhabitants were scattered on the ground, some of them even missing limbs.
"What a massacre." Said Karyu, snorting black smoke from his nostrils.
"Yeah, those dragons sure were angry." Said Luke as he inspected every corner of the burned city, trying to find anything that could help them chase the dragons.
The two of them kept searching until Karyu heared a powerful scream, he looked around and saw his Rider, being held down by a dragoness with pure black scales and golden eyes.
Karyu let out a roar of rage as he quickly started to charge towards the dragoness but he was soon immobalized by three dragons who held him on the ground, the dragons barelly could contain Karyu's strength as he started to struggle free, trying to help his rider.
The dragoness eyed Karyu down, only to then look at Luke, she took a deep breath and a gray fog shot out of her maw, bathing Luke's face in it, Karyu felt his heart drop as he saw the struggles of his rider becoming weaker by each second, only to see them completly vanish as Luke fainted due to the unknown smoke.
Karyu eyed the dragoness down, gritting his sharp teeth, "You... YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!!!" roared Karyu as he broke free from the grip of the three dragons and quickly started charging towards the dragoness, who was frozen in fear as she saw the great dragon charging towards her, within seconds, Karyu pinned the dragoness down who shutted her eyes tightly as she saw Karyu's great claws just inches away from her.
"You're not gonna kill your own kind now, would you?" A voice called, Karyu turned around and saw an azure dragon with horns resembling antlers, with a crystaline blue color resembling ice.
The dragon looked at the dragons that held Karyu down, he then looked back at Karyu, "Not even three dragons could hold back one of their own, couldn't expect less from the reincarnation of Madurai." the dragon said with a wise voice.
"Don't refer to me as that." Growled Karyu as he looked back at the dragoness that made Luke unconcious, "I don't mind killing one of my 'own', especially if that certain dragon struck my rider unconcious." he growled again, this made the dragoness slowly open her eyes.
"E-Excuse you?! I didn't kill him, i just breathed a miasma that made him faint!" The dragoness protested, Karyu growled as he gripped the dragoness tighter, this made her shriek, "A-Alright alright! I'll shut up!" said the dragoness as she quickly stopped talking.
"She's not lying, the miasma she breathed made him only unconcious, although i never understood why a dragon would care for the life of his or her rider." Said the azure dragon as he crossed his forelegs.
"You don't understand, he gave me a new life, he welcomed me as one of his family, he-" Protested Karyu, only to be intrerupted by the azure dragon, "He took your freedom away." sharply finished the azure dragon.
Karyu was about to protest again but was cut off by the azure dragon, "Look, i was originally a human just like you, i minded my own business untill i stumbled in an island made from the same cultists that turned you into a dragon and they turned me into one, when i took my revenge, i also met my rider but he wasn't so kind and merciful as your rider." he said, "He treated me like a tool, an object, scratching away the possibility of me feeling emotions, i ran away from him, before he could harm me in any other way." he continued, "I'm just an ordinary dragon, but you.... You are not a regular dragon, you are considered as a god, do you honestly want this fool to eclipse your power away from you? Do you want to let this man live after he took your freedom and started turning you into a mindless weapon for his will?" the azure dragon finished, Karyu was being flooded by questions, this made him confused.
"I...." Started Karyu only to then pause, the azure dragon kept eyeing him down only to then sigh, "Look, i'm not here to fight one of my own, especially someone who can easly kill an entire flight of dragons within minutes, just let the dragoness go and you can make your own choice." suggested the azure dragon, Karyu looked at the dragoness one last time and took his grip away from her, letting her go to her fellow flight, "Now Karyu, choose, would you spare this mortal and keep living a life of servitude as his tool." started the azure dragon, "Or mercilessly kill him for ripping your freedom away and join our flight to be free as you were meant to be." finished the azure dragon.
Karyu was now flooded by thoughts should he be with Luke? Or should he be with the dragons before him?
