The three friends played together for hours, shooting baskets and chatting about their lives. Even if Justin knew in the back of his head that these two kids used to be his parents, by the time the sun had started to set, he truly started to see them as his best friends. He felt like he could share anything with them, and knew that they felt the same. Exhausted, the three start to wrap things up and saw goodbye for the day.
“Alright, I’ll see you two tomorrow! We’re still on for lunch, right?” Heather says.
“What, no kiss goodbye?” Justin said, still remembering how she’d kissed him earlier. Unseen by Justin, Sean frowned and looked away.
“Sorry boys, but you’re both super sweaty after playing in the sun all day. No kisses until you two take a shower! Bye!” Heather laughed as she ran home.
Justin giggled and started to walk off toward home, but he felt a hand grab his own and turned to see Sean blushing and fidgeting.
“Umm… what’s up, man? I gotta get home, so…”
Sean looked straight into Justin’s eyes and took a deep breath.
“I-if you want a kiss goodbye, I-I’ll do it! I don’t think you smell too sweaty!” Sean burst out.
“W-what are you-…?”
Justin was stunned. This boy was his dad! Or, he used to be, at least… Justin was pretty sure that his dad wasn’t gay, but here he was offering to kiss him and complimenting his smell. Sean clearly had a young crush on the boy that used to be his own son! Had something messed up when he’d changed his dad into a kid? Or had his dad always been bi, and he’d only just now been comfortable enough to come out? In any case, Sean still had Justin by the hand, and was waiting for an answer…
How is Justin supposed to handle this one? Sean is really handsome, athletic, and really kind, but can Justin really accept his feelings? Or, would another little ‘change’ help to fix things up?
